Anne of Green Gables , written my Lucy Maud Montgomery from Prince Edward Island , Canada . She's a prolific & important writer here who arguably is the author of the most famous Canadian novel (series) of all time . For some reason the Japanese love her . She's eternally popular here in Canada with numerous reboots and screen versions . The longest running play in the world is in Cavendish PEI, based on this novel . Interestingly Anne is a fictional character based loosely on Montgomery's experience in rural Prince Edward Island . You can go to PEI and do a similar experience . Yerrrrrrrrp

Drew Edmonson No, sorry, you are mistaken... Miyazaki was only a layout artist on the series and that was because Isao Takahata (who you are probably confused with) directed the series and asked him to come on board for the artwork. Takahata's work often gets confused for Miyazaki.

I cant be the only person who searches for these places on maps after watching these kind of videos 🤔 I would love to visit historical locations but right now is not a good time for me to do so. I have quiet a few different historical places near me including the homestead of the author who wrote 'Picnic at hanging rock' a mere 10 minutes walk from my house. Aside from the houses/buildings I know for a fact my family would have to send out a search party for me if I ever went exploring because as much as I love looking at the old places I'd also tend to get lost in thought thinking how the people were feeling in general & how they went bout their lives in general

Great video Josh! You showed some buildings that I think Dan did not. But I loved both your videos on this place because it brings back memories. Living in Canada for over 30 years now, Anne of Green Gables was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I loved it so much that I now have the whole series to when she was first adopted to all grown up and married. :) If you're interested in the show but can't find the originals, there is a remake of it on Netflix called "Anne with and E". I've never watched the remake myself, but hopefully it's as good as the one I grew up watching. :)

I was there in 2015! Looks about the same, but there were more things open when Josh was there. People who visited there in the 90s would actually get married at the chapel. Along the walkway closest to the chapel are plaques with their handprints and wedding date.

I feel like they appreciated the show more than we did! When I was in grade-school, we were forced to read & watch the, "Anne of Green Gables" series. My friends & I thought it was dull, but I remember, when it was on PBS, my mom LOVED it. I never understood why we were forced to watch it, but I feel like we would've been way more interested in visiting this place, rather than watching the series!😂

Hey Josh! Great video! Anne of Green Gables started out as a series of childrens books written by Lucy Maud Montgomery of Prince Edward Island in Eastern Canada. I come from the province of New Brunswick which is right next door to the island. Many movies and tv series have been inspired by it. What's really cool though is that the house where the author lived is still standing and is a very popular tourist attraction - which is exactly like the green and White House you visited in the video - it's an exact replica! ❤️ We've spent many summers as a family visiting PEI and the real locations represented in this neat little attraction in Japan. If you enjoyed the park Josh - you should really try visiting the real PEI... tonnes and tonnes of neat things to see, incredibly historical stuff and I'm sure there are abandoned old homes scattered across the island!
