I wanted to make a point that in order to get the animations exported separately from the model I do believe you need to export more then one. I have tried exporting one by itself separately and it seems to export it with the model and not separate from it. Note: to set the start and end of the clip you actually only need to select the motion layer and select the button to the right of the set end button with the 2 bars '||' like that and it will set the end and start for you.

Glad you found it useful, it's a bit tricky. I wish they had it so you could access the animations and select them more easily rather than having to wade through folders to get to them.

Many thanks for making the tutorial in a simple manner which is so easy for us to understand. Would you please help me, I am trying to setup a mocap unit and for that what to buy with iClone7 ? I am confused! I have a iphone x, so if I purchase iclone7 (149$), is it enough for facial mocap to record and use in blender? Or do I have to purchase any other plugins with it, like Motion Live plug in or any other? I am also planning to purchase ROKOKO Smart suit for full body mocap. So many videos says so many different things !! Please advise. Thank you and Cheers.

So If you purchase iClone now you will not get an upgrade that's coming next spring...They aren't giving iClone 8 or CC4 away for free this time...You won't need 3DXChange or the Curve Editor with iClone 8, which is a big plus. What you will need is Motion Live and the Facial Mocap Profile 'Live Face' Which is a profile for the iPhone used by the Motion Live plugin... that will be around $300 right now for both of those. With iClone at $129 it would be a total of $528 before tax. If you get a ROKOKO Smart Suit you will most likely need the Body MoCap Profile for Motion Live called 'Rokoko' for $599. You will not be able to export those except with a one month trial of 3DXChange unless you either buy it or wait till next spring to buy iClone 8. 3DXChange is currently priced at $299, I own both the CC3 and iClone 7 software so I don't know if I get lower prices then what you will get but I doubt it knowing Reallusion. To sum this up, I would advice against buying it till the new version comes out in the Spring of next year.

Yeah, all your really doing is exporting the animations with the model. Instead of selecting Unreal from the presets though you would select Unity.

Thank you sir. Your reply gives me lots of meaningful advise. I really need it. Sir, actually I have gather a lots of information but one simple thing I couldn't find that is, how to get a membership of Reallusion so that, I can get 40% discount? Or how to get the 40% discount on purchase?

That 40% discount is part of the Elite Membership it will give you a 40% discount for any purchase in the 'Content Store' and only the 'Content Store' until the end of 2022 but I think it's a year end thing and when it starts you have to purchase so much before the offer is over to qualify for it but I'm not 100% sure on that last part. I think it's a seasonal thing though. Also for the next like 9 days or so you get 50% off when you buy 2 things...I'm not sure the exact details on that but if you did that this week you would still need to spend $699 but you would get significantly more stuff for the same price. Someone already made a video on this thankfully. If you don't have 3DXChange then you have to use a workaround and it's a long and drawn out process but it is supposed to be possible. @@unrealdevop thanks for answer me so quickly. I do have 3DXChange, but I cant get the facial expressions (blinking, smiling, etc, the body motion is ok) in UE no matter what I do, including importing the appropriate motion files. Do you have a tip for this or a link to a tut that really works?

@@RuiManuel Seems like it should be importing with it, have you tried saving the animation as a MotionPlus and then exporting that with it? Doing it this way should work for exporting it as .FBX through CC3 or 3DXChange. In 3DXChange you would just load the model up in it and then add the animation. If you haven't done that before it should be on the right down a way's and under Animation. Here is a video on how to do it the other way as well using the same method. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJytlZpoZZmFoMk I haven't really paid too much attention to the facial animations but as far as I know I haven't had any issues with that, then again I haven't payed a lot of attention too it because it's not something I've really been too focused on doing.

What issue are you having exactly? I export the fbx from iclone and import it to unreal (deselect import mesh but keep import animation) and it just works. Full facial.

@@RuiManuel I just realized that I know what your problem is, when your importing into unreal you have to manually choose to import it with morphs.

I know they have the Live Link plugin and I believe using that you can transport scene elements over using it, but I haven't used it in a while.

when i try to import the animation it just says failed to import. I am using unreal engine 5, any thoughts?

Are you importing the character first and then manually selecting its skeleton when you import the animations?

If i want to make a fight game on ue4 using animations i made in iclone, is iclone reliable for that? If so, Is it possible that i can make it look mocap with the right editing?

Yeah it will be adequate for that. You just need to learn to blend upper and lower body animations. You can even get an animation and only blend one arm with the currently playing one as well inside of Unreal using the Animation Blueprint system. iClone should work fine for that. If you want more control over the animations in iClone though you'll need to buy the 'Curve Editor' plugin for it.

Fair enough, but it's assumed that if you have iClone 7 you have CC3 since iClone 7 is essentially useless without CC Chars....especially since it doesn't support importing and rigging your custom characters without.....3DXChange.....

Also even if you do have 3DXChange in iClone 7.....goodluck using it with your own chars...I tried once and could never get a custom char to properly import. 3DXChange is rough as hell to use and the few guides available for importing your own char I found useless.
