About us:
Our church began in Sydney in 2001 after a group of saved Bible believing baptists came together with a common desire to have a church which truly believed and taught the King James 1611 Bible is the word of God. This is because they grew weary of being in churches which just used the KJV and claimed they believed it only to have the pastors and teachers claim later it had errors and contradictions.
The group then sought out a pastor and meeting place. In a short time God provided both! The group contacted and visited Pastor John Wheat in Queanbeyan NSW who believed the Bible and had started a Bible believing Baptist church there. After this group of believers shared their heart and vision, God called Pastor John Wheat to Sydney to help establish the church there. Pastor Wheat turned the church in Queanbeyan over to a young man he had trained in the ministry and moved to Sydney where Open Bible Baptist Church was formed. God called Pastor Wheat home to heaven after pastoring the church for 10 years.
Pastor Jason Young was saved at the age of 15 and called to preach at 17. He surrendered to go to Bible school shortly afterwards and attended and graduated from Pensacola Bible Institute. Upon graduating God dealt with his heart about going to the mission field. In 2006 he came to Australia to visit and help out on the mission field. While he was there God confirmed in his heart the call to Australia. After ministering in Australia for 8 years God called him to be our Pastor in 2014.

As someone who has listened to a lot of MacArthurs sermons, I’m always open to new information. No man is infallible. But I have to say, the manner in which you presented this is very concerning. You sound like a young envious critic. McArthur works very hard and has for many, many decades, unlike your young ignorant self. McArthur’s criticism of the prosperity gospel has everything to do with how these pimp preachers sell God to ignorant people. It is all about those preachers convincing people in the pews to give to them to buy God’s blessings by sowing into their ministries. They tell people that is the way to prosperity. That’s not God, and that is NOT what McArthur does. There is nothing wrong with McArthur enjoying the fruits of his labor as kind as he isn’t fleecing the people. He doesn’t. Have you ever used his commentaries? They are incredible. That is decades of work, so why do you begrudge McA for earning money writing books and commentaries. Remember, God said a workman is worth his hire. McA’s church doesn’t pay him for writing. They only pay him for preaching and position. Stop being so whiny and showing your ignorance.

FYI, he has circle of friends whom he disagrees with when it comes to non-essentials but he loves them as he understands that the hill to die on are the essentials. For instance, his dear friend R.C. Sproul is paedobaptist but John Mac is credobaptist. Sproul is optimistic amill. John Mac is a committed dispensational premill. Yet, they both stand on the essentials of faith (Deity of Christ, Trinity, Salvation, etc.)

David Pawson was one of the a work salvation preacher I listened to. He stole my joy of Salvation until I found the truth you were teaching out of God’s word. I snatched my Joy right back! I feel your passion and righteous fury though some restraint is necessary. It's hard enough looking up to someone like John only to find out that he's one of those wolves among sheep, abusing their position and squandering that gift. He doesn’t go into detail about his sins because it’s not about him, it’s about preaching the word! The only thing you have managed to succeed at and to clearly demonstrate is what it’s like to be envious of others and spreading gossip and rumours of your brethren … another child of God. It’s not so much what he said about John MacArthur … it’s how he said it! That’s not what I call zealous … bottom line is the gospel is to be preached … John MacArthur does just that and has a huge following whereby he’s opened the door to many who weee and are able to receive Jesus Christ in their lives. Furthermore, he’ll probably always have a lot bigger following than this guy. When he disparages John MacArthur it’s far different than how John MacArthur goes after others. John MacArthur points out what’s being said by the preacher and how it is a twist or slant on the Scripture. Show me where John MacArthur has stepped out of line on that point! So as a result of the way he has presented himself about John MacArthur’s past sins and mishandling of money, etc. … where is the acknowledgment that John MacArthur has recanted from those sins? Jesus Christ will deal with John MacArthur’s sins as He will with all of ours, who we are also not without sin. I’m not saying it’s not the truth of the gossip he’s spewing out … but his ways of bringing this to light are not Christian-like at all … and this critical-spirited pastor needs to take a good look at himself! The lesson I take from all this is we’re not infallible but God has mercy and we have until the moment we pass to repent of those sins, for forgiveness… but there are still consequences to those actions. Another important thing is to be careful how you judge your brothers and sisters in Christ … it may not fair well for you if you behave in the manner that was displayed in this video! It’s important how things are said … I too am guilty of religiosity, which compassion tends to be omitted in most cases. This is not a preacher I wish to learn from, if indeed he is a pastor. When you criticize someone it should be within context. Here is the context: the child asked John Macarthur how can she know if she is already a christian/saved or not. She even mentioned if a person is aleady a believer when should they be baptized. John Macarthur responds with questions about things a christian/saved must have believed and accepted. And she said yes to all that. He then asked questions about desires present in a true christian/saved. Again she said yes to all that. That kid clearly understood salvation and is a genuine believer. Was John Macarthur wrong when he pointed that a saved person will have the desire to honor Jesus Christ? Love Christ? Know God's Word? Sing praises to Christ? Do you honestly believe all those desires are not necessarily present in a converted heart?

A long time ago, I got saved into the Charismatic Church. I was constantly defending “spirit filled” pastors, gifts of the spirit, a messed up eschatology etc. Not because the WORD, or Holy Spirit were leading me there, but because worldly pastors and my own lack of (or misguided) study caused me to be misled. You may like your pastor. You may think that he is professing right doctrine, you may defend certain people and their activities, but you NEED TO study the WORD yourself. You need to study, then promulgate the truths of Jesus. Your doctrinal understanding may be in error for a “minute”, but keep striving to know Jesus. Holy Spirit will guide a heart after Him. Any doctrinal misunderstanding caused by errant teaching that you think is sound doctrine… I gotta tell you, that is borne out of complacency.

It's one thing to debate doctrine, but to see Kim showing such bad form with these ad hominnon attacks, it's cringe-worthy . Not only is he Incredibly illogical he is incredibly immature & the smugness here really stinks. SAD, I really liked his teaching until seeing this.

Well ladies..I have to agree..he could tone it down a few notches..but I doubt he will..seems in all his teachings to us..he's becoming a little arrogant in his " getting so mad " application. Some preachers forget it's like listening to a mad husband that just ran over the cat in the driveway and wants you to take the blame for it..🙄. Anyway..let's pray that he matures in his ministry..and just gives the facts as he sees things without all the drama...🤔.
