I had an issue with a C5 cassette not reading CYA and high CH readings. WaterGuru's response was "While our FC and pH pads use custom WaterGuru proprietary chemistry, the TA and CH pads we are using are currently unmodified, direct from the Test Strip manufacturers, while the CYA pad is a hybrid." "While you can continue using the C5 cassette to monitor pH and FC levels effectively, please note that the results for CYA, CH, and CA may not be as precise at this time. As an alternative, we recommend using the C2 cassette for monitoring your chemical parameters until further notice. Of course, you are welcome to use the C5 cassette if it better suits your preferences." So not worth the money if you can't trust it.

I had a similar issue when my S1 just quit working. They sent me an S2 like you without a warranty. Now my S2 seems to be going through batteries like crap through a goose. I like the concept of the device, and love that I get my little text even when Im traveling. I do periodically use a test kit AND test strips just to make sure all is ok. So far so good! I just hope they continue to upgrade the device to makenit more bullet proof.

I bought a Sense 2 for our new pool, but then we ended up using a pool service. I left the Guru in for a double check, and also just out of curiosity. The Guru was never consistent with its measurements, and did not match up with the measurements from the pool service. It kept me too worried, so I took a sample to Leslie's for a tiebreaker measurement. Leslie's numbers matched the pool service. I finally just took the WaterGuru out. I wish I had not spent the money on it.

Thanks for both informative videos on the Waterguru. I have been contemplating the purchase of a Sense 2 but can't find ANY information regarding the longevity of the device. I know that you fully expect this Sense 2 to fail. I'm hoping that they learned from the Sense 1 and worked out the kinks. Does it advise you on how much chemical to add based on the test results? Or is there an easy online reference for those of us more challenged at pool maintenance?
@AviatorsGarage5 ай бұрын
It absolutely does. It tells you how many cups of whatever chemical that you need to put in your pool so that it will be balanced however it’s more of a generalized measurement based on how many gallons your pool has.

So far i haven't been disappointed. Thy CYA values are completely borked like Kevin mentioned. It saves my knees a little bit for general testing. But you still need to do an actual measurement occasionally to really fine tune things. Im relativley new to the pool game. But it saves me a little bit of time which is precious.

I suppose you could but that sounds like a huge pain. You might as well just a drop kit to test your water. It will be faster than putting in batteries… waiting for unit to boot up… then 8-10 minutes for a water reading

I'd be really interested in a comparison of chrlorine, ph and CYA results with 2 other methods (drip/shake test kit and Leslies). I recently had Leslie's test my pool water (Houston) after a 2/3 drain/refill to reduce CYA. 1st test after refill said calcium hardness was 166ppm (200-400 recommended range). I put in 8lbs of "hardness plus" (1/2 the recommended), and today they retested and it said 162ppm. So their tests aren't exact either... Anyway this Waterguru unit is very tempting assuming it's sufficiently accurate and reliable. Have subscribed to see updates. Thanks!!
