The aston villa keeper martinez stated that for pretty much every game that messi plays there are approx 200 player issue messi shirts that are given away since there is such a high demand for them. thats whats happened here i feel. The player that received the messi shirt originally may have been none the wiser about this and assumed it was match worn. Just a theory though

And even then, if this scammer was decent and this is just an error he'd have surely just accepted the refund he promised and then sell the Messi shirt to someone else. Say something like, "I'll refund you but don't release a video saying it's fake because that would ruin me"

Maybe everyone who's bought from him in the past took him on his word. Ellis did the background checks and found him out. If you look at his Twitter feed he's advertising match worn Iniesta boots. The photo of the signed boots don't match the "in game" photo of him wearing some boots.

A good blend of serious guests with incredible life stories and then the next week doing a podcast about popcorn. In this case they had Ellis on because he's good friends with all the Lads and it was almost bringing a friend in as opposed to a guest.

Don’t mind Ellis and the content he puts out, but fucking hell he needs to realise you can’t just throw money at something in the shirt collecting space and get it- the more valuable a shirt the easier it’ll be to trace the origins, and people keep their sources to themselves. Network and organically grow your contacts and sooner or later an opportunity will come up to get the Messi shirt. Ellis is probably the most prominent shirt collector in the UK KZbin wise and aside from the Ramsdale shirts hasn’t really been able to procure anything matchworn of note… says it all. Just my 2 cents!

for someone who's apparently big in the industry of selling match worn shirts, did it not seem strange to this Ellis that he was being asked to pay by bank transfer. At the very least it should have been via a payment merchant or even PayPal. This just sounds like when a gobshite pays for something that's clearly fake (or doesn't exist) over Facebook marketplace then starts getting pissy that he's been conned.
