Jump ring on the clasp is an absolute. I learnt the hard way after having to restring. It means you can also add an extender chain if necessary. Love your accent from a kiwi living in Perth. 😊

Hi Marilyn, "Kiwi living in Perth". Thank you so much. I actually had that experience last week where I had to shorten a piece and had to completely restring it. It's so annoying when this happens. Thank you so much.

I LOVE this video! I smiled through this whole video! Thank you for the tip on the clasp and jump ring too. I had never thought about that, so this really helps! God Bless! Keep teaching us this awesome craft! ;-)

Yes, my design process can get a bit messy - it can also take a long time. Then other days (like earlier this week) everything just flies together and works perfectly. I'm so pleased you enjoyed this one. I learned from experience about adding the clasp with a jump ring. It's not fun having to restring everything because your clasp fails. Thank you so much for watching.

I love these. It's interesting to see what you can do with limited beads rather than having your regular selection. Since I'm just starting out I don't have a HUGE selection so this helps me and gives me ideas. I make do with what I have.

Thank you so much, Mary Jane. Usually that is the process which is why I don't usually film it - I end up with jars of beads all over my desk, on the floor, behind me, etc. That's why I challenged myself in this one to use only the beads that I had in the kit so that I didn't make too much of a mess. I also cut out quite a lot of my "thinking" time as this video took me about 2 hours to film and I didn't think you needed to watch me just sitting there for hours.

Hi Kadey, just visited your channel - it looks great. I also love to cook. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Bridal jewellery is such a hard thing - it's so subjective. For example, my daughter is getting married in October and I know that for her, the jewellery will be big and bold and chunky and probably black and pink. I understand that this isn't the norm but what I'm trying to say is that everyone's taste is so different and when it comes to your wedding day, it needs to be perfect. Maybe it's something we could work together on privately. Why don't you email me and we can see where that goes. carol@affordablejewellerysupplies.co.nz.

Hi there, I watched this video and started making my jewellery. Made 2 necklaces and a pair of earrings to match them. I think they throw in a mind-bender in those kits. I would have taken the silver heart out and used it someplace else. The rest of the pieces you made are all very nice. I love the bumble bee. I would love to hear about the wires that you are using. I have a bunch of them that I have been using for years but am running out and I want to know the difference between them. Thanks for your video and this shows how us artists have to really think of the engineering of a piece to make it work. (and that is when the costs come in as well!)
@The_Stylish_Maker10 ай бұрын
Thank you so much, Flora. I agree that they often throw in a challenging piece or 2 in these kits. Just starting. Xuron 170-II Shear Flush cutter or Xuron 2175 Maxi-shear Flush cutter ? 1of these j+ Xuron crimping pliers is that sufficient for general working practice? Do you purchase jump rings or make them from wire? Is 49strand stainless steel .018" Satin Gold wire sufficient for most needs? What. are Magical crimp pliers? purchasing in Canada.

I had lots of questions when I started too. Here's a video that might help. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoG5hnSIqNp6itk With regard to stringing beads, while you're starting out a tiger tail is fine. It's the same thickness but not 49 strands. Obviously, if you have a 49 strand then you can use it. I generally use a 0.38mm stringing wire but it's fine as long as it goes through the beads. You only need one pair of crimping pliers - if you have the Xuron ones then use those.. Here's a video about the magical crimper kzbin.info/www/bejne/labWfpWmfbWanKs Here's a video about different ways to crimp kzbin.info/www/bejne/roerhZaljthsqLc I don't make my own jump rings. They are fairly cheap to buy and usually good quality. Look for a 20 gauge or thicker (smaller number) thickness of wire. I hope that helps.

Soft Flex is tougher than Tiger Tail - it's 19 strands and tiger tail is only 7. Did you watch my video about the stringing material in the members area? I talked about the different thicknesses and how many strands, etc. Here's the link: kzbin.infokHiMniKTv08?si=s0M_0nLJnUiKGwzg

You used the wire guardian on one side but not the other. When should you be using one?
@The_Stylish_Maker10 ай бұрын
Thanks, Lisa. That's a great question. I only used the wire guardian on one side because of the jump ring. When you put a stringing material through a jump ring, especially one that is made from a thinner wire like I used here, the stringing material can often slip out or the jump ring might get pulled open slightly. That's why I used it only one the one side. I could just have easily used it on both sides for consistency.
