I had some Korean close friends during my uni days and they were really proud about Samsung beating Sony, Hyundai being superior than Honda (I’m not a car expert but even so I know that’s not remotely true), basically Koreans > Japanese. I'll clarify for those who care. 1) dating in islam is not allowed it is haram 2) any relationship outside of marriage is haram. her calling it boyfriend girlfriend puts it into that category 3) beginning with the intention to get married and going on interviews to know the other person, accompanied by a male guardian where no touching or inappropriate behaviour flirting etc occurs is allowed to get married. this is not dating by any western definition of word, it is more akin to interviewing. 4) such interviews end immediately if they are incompatible and they move onto next person. as objective is marriage, not dating. 5) sinning does not throw you outside the folds of islam (unless of a specific belief type, such as rejecting clear positions). It just makes the person a bad Muslim. As far as that goes, in the words of isa pbuh, he who is without sin cast the first stone. so she is still a Muslim. No one should call her a non-Muslim. 6) when 1 Muslim says another person is a non-Muslim, one of them is not a Muslim. So be careful of calling her a non-Muslim. calling a Muslim in Allah's eyes, even a sinning Muslim a non-Muslim, makes you a non-Muslim. 7) do not follow in the footsteps of shaytan. Allah has forbidden it as it is how he seduces you into sin. 8) do not make halal what is haram. 9) do not expose your sins to the public. it makes people imitate you and the sins your followers will commit imitating you, will be yours too 10) dating is a sin that leads to many fitnas, such as abortion, rape, adultery, zina, suicide, acid attacks, violence etc. 11) if you're going to leave this video up, you should add a message or something to it, saying it is a sin and you wish you had not done it. and advise your followers not to make the same mistake as you did.

The scholars from all 4 of the madhabs agree that it is haram to have boyfriend because we are commanded in the Quran to not go even near zina. Extensive explanations have been given by scholars centuries ago. A layperson doesn't have enough knowledge to decide where they draw the boundary. Let's not try to reinterpret things that have been clarified by scholars that have more knowledge than me and you. You can't compare eating things that don't have halal labels to dating in general, especially kuffar. There are only few foods that are haram and the rest are halal. That's not the case with dating. Sabrina was in Korea so the guy most probably was a kaafir. There is no reason defend someone when they are wrong. We pray that they repent and that Allah SWT forgives them. Meeting with the intention of marriage is very different to dating people even if it's done in a group setting. Meeting someone with intention of marriage involves talking about matters strictly related to marriage and expectation in life and etc in a very serious and direct manner. The meetings aren't dragged for a long period and the people involved decide what they want to do early on. Dating leads to many sins. E.g. lowering one's gaze in a command of Allah and that doesn't happen when a person is dating and looks at their partner. This can lead to developing feelings and, therefore, further increasing the chances of having unlawful premarital sex, which is haram.

this was never stated explicitly in the Quran. Quran encourages you to minimize your likelihood to sin, but many things are gray areas, and where you decide is a limit is up to you. For example, some Muslims will find even having someone you call a boyfriend or girlfriend haram for themselves. Others may find that it's okay, but all dates must be had in a group setting to minimize temptation. Others may say one on one dates in public settings are okay, so long as no boundaries are crossed and they dont touch each other. Some may even say you shouldnt text as it's too private and prone to temptations. These are things even religious scholars will discuss and debate - it's a gray area for a reason and open to interpretation how you want to practice it. For example - eating food that isn't halal certified may be totally out of the question for some people. But others may check the ingredient list for anything that isn't allowed, and if all the ingredients are safe and halal, they may eat it anyways. Please stop acting as if Islam's rules are so strict and not at all different depending on culture and time. I assure you, many Muslims werent hijabis about 60 years ago. Many Muslims still date, even devout ones, but they do so without doing anything sinful. This is to ensure that they dont end up married to someone who isn't a good fit, because divorces are hard to attain under non-Muslim laws.

I speak based on my experience of who is in 'relationships' before marriage. It's not hard at all. And the whole "dating" is just to know each other more like taaruf. Most of my friends are dating and their parents also know it. Heck, their parents even encourage them to engage and marry each other if they are finally ready. (These parents are also religious so) They also usually "date" in public so in the eyes of my society it's fine as long as they don't date in some private or something. That's when they would judge. I think it's like that since most of our society doesn''t really have any arrangements for marriage. Even myself, so whether I want or not I need to 'date' with someone too so that I can marry that person since my family is against marriage without knowing each other. They would ask me if I have a "relationship" with someone first. Like "how long do you have a relationship with that person?" If I said I don't have one or just dated for a few weeks but suddenly wanted to marry, they would be straight rejected us. Which is why most of us think a 'date' as a whole different concept despite we know in hadith is haram. But then again most of us didn't step outside our boundaries since the dating concept in action just hanging out each other like sort of friends but in different name 😅. And we absolutely didn't live in the same room unless we are married. So don't worry, they are mostly virgins even if they have a previous relationship with someone.

I understand that. And i dont believe that many of these comments are intentionally passing judgment because shes "solely" engaging in relationships for pleasure. Rather it is known in Islam that these kinds of relationships outside of marriage are forbidden. It is in Quran, in hadiths around Prophet ​SAW time and as true Muslims, there is just no exception to what Allah has ordained in these revelations. I agree that there is a halalway to court each other - but the goal is to get married, which means that family is involved, guardians of each side of the family to look after them as zina is a very real and sin of high order that Shaytan loves.
