and that is literally the most important thing for parents to understand. So many of us have been told "I just don't want life to be harder for you than it has to be" or "I'm worried for you" to dissuade us from coming out. But in the end, life is always hard, and telling us to avoid standing out so we don't get hurt is just telling us to accept the pain where no one else can see it. My parents told me they didn't want it to be harder. But it was harder, especially without their support.

@MyLadyLuna9 ай бұрын
@niyatitejwani9963 First, you have to take it to court(I only know about how it's done in America) and pay $150-$300 dollars as a fee(im in TX) to change your legal information. Then you would have to go renew other things you've signed up for, such as a passport, which is a mandatory change the airport has to follow through with in order to allow you to travel. I'm not financially stable yet and still rely on my parents as I'm a high-schooler soon going to college, but I plan to go through the process of changing my legal information.

@jospinner11838 ай бұрын
You sound young, and the good news is that once you're financially independent and can live on your own, being queer can get a lot easier. If you're still living with your parents, their rejection can be scary or even dangerous, since they hold all the power in the relationship. However, when you're able to live your own life, you can live authentically as yourself, and yours parents' choice to reject you is only _their_ problem. And fortunately, increasing societal acceptance of LGBTQ+ folks means it can be very easy to find a community of friends who love you as you are. Sometimes, "family" is just what you call the people who love you, whether or not they're related by blood. 💜

@@Nella_nova Yeah, unfortunately there are some parts of the world that aren't going to be safe for queer folks no matter how much family support we get. And within very large countries like the US, there's a huge difference in both laws and social pressures between states and even localities. Cities are almost always safer for trans people than rural areas, though the cops tend to be equally useless/dangerous in all areas. I'm trapped here in the US due to economic factors, but I've found that even within countries that may not be particularly safe for queer people, there are often _safer_ areas. These are often areas where a lot of LGBTQ+ folks live near each other and form protective networks and community mutual aid groups. Sometimes we have to keep ourselves safe.

The purpose of this comment is to explain my situation, how I'm going about it and to ask for your help. Thx. I'm transgender AND gay so I have two "problems". People can say that I'm still a woman, so they say I'm hetero or I'm a man and I'm gay. I prefer the second proposition. Today, I'm scary to say "I'm a man, even if I look like a woman. Please, I'm still the same person, treat me like a normal people". The question "How do you use the public toilet" makes me feel like...hurted ? But I can tell you how : recently, I started to use men toilet but only if I wear like a man. I don't really like public toilets in general so, I don't go there often. I can also tell you how I bathe in public. I don't really like public swimming pool so I don't go there but for the sea, I don't go there too. I feel strange and like a monster when I wear swimsuit. I'm really scary because of people' looks. So I stay away and I wanna cry because I wanna swim like everyone. Also, I came out to my parents, my sister and my friends. At first, my parents were a bit overwhelmed, but they wanna understand me more. My father accept me but my mother doesn't know how it can be possible to be transgender. She said "it's strange but I wanna understand". Today, I have a good relationship with all my family. I just don't know how to take my mother's words. I'm a lil bit hurted... One of my friends told me : "I don't know if I'll hurt you but...what's your sexual orientation ?" I tell him : " I'm gay, I'm totally gay" and as a joke and because I knew he could ask : "you don't like me, do you ?" (it's better to laugh than cry) I added : "You're not my type.". He didn't hear that but asked me anyway if it was mean or not : it was mean and I feel bad for this last sentence and because I know that I have two "problems" and then I can't be able to be loved... Watching this video was a great experience and I learnt a lot about how I can react but I'm still scared. Thx for reading my story. It took the weight off my shoulders so it doesn't matter if you don't care. If my relatives happen to read this, please, be gentle and support me, 'cause I'm really down... Thx a lot. FD

Stay strong and if someone asks nicely, try to explain how you feel, it will take more weight of your shoulders to have your friends and family understand where you’re coming from ☺️ at the same time, you do not have to endure rude or inappropriate questions just because of your gender identity or sexual orientation! If someone’s being mean, you do not owe them an explanation to anything! You do not have a “problem” at all, you’re a person who has found their truth and is fortunate to be supported and able to live it

I was actually a bit surprised that all the people on the video were just 'one thing'! In my experience, a lot of people are trans or nonbinary and gay or bisexual at the same time. So you are not weird at all, in the queer community! I hope you find other lgbt friends, so you may feel less alone. Maybe try an art class? Good luck!

I think there are also stereotypes that if ppl become trans then they automatically become straight, when in fact, it's not always like that. I'm so sorry for you i hope you're doing great

The guest, Choi Seung Jin, who is an actor, is a BL actor under SukFilm. He is in Blue Boys parts 1 and 2, and Seoul Blues. He is a really good actor. I think this interview probably helped him with his roles as a gay male who has intimate scenes with the other male actor.

The last question was really funny to me, because in America we often joke that if one member of your high school friend group comes out as gay or trans, withon a few years it will turn out that all of them were, because weirdos and people who are different can smell each other and group together even if they don't yet understand _how_ they're different. >~

I love seeing other lgbt people living their lives truely in countries other than america and england. As someone who isnt from a place that's very overtly accepting it's really comforting seeing ppl with more similar experiences to my own in this aspect. No hate to the ppl from more supportive places tho, im not trying to diminish your struggles (and i see the shit ur governments are trying to do to youse atm), it's just different.

Have you ever heard of the saying; don't judge a book by its cover? It's wrong to think that way even in vice versa, but if you do no harm to no one and only live in your fantasies, I guess it's fine

@@miysoi people usually assume you’re straight until you come out as gay, lesbian, bi, trans etc and then they become incredibly rude towards you. Also, I’m sure OP’s comment was a joke but if it’s not, Just dont assume anyone’s gender identity or sexual orientation and, don’t outright get rude if they’re gay, straight etc as everyone deserves respect regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. Idk if I worded this correctly 😅

As a person born in 2000 and in a small town of Canada to sorta progressive-ish parents, I am very fortunate to be accepted by most people and had pretty much exclusively queer friends by Junior High despite us all still being in the closet. So it was not by design, we just happened to all be drawn to one-another unconsciously. We still all faced bigotry, slurs and bullying, but most people around at least treated us with respect.
