Porsche customer service has gone downhill fast. The people that work at my local Porsche dealership literally do nothing and they act like they are doing you a service by talking to you. About 2 years ago, I was going to buy my wife a Porsche 911 for her birthday and they literally ignored us when we told them we wanted to buy the car in their showroom. The guy said he was going to go talk to his manager and he just never came back. He just disappeared. So we just left. I took my wife down the road to the Lamborghini dealership and the salesman greeted us like we were family and made my wife a coffee and talked to us for 15 minutes about cars and we bought a Huracan EVO Spyder from them 15 minutes later. We are now really good friends with that Lamborghini dealership’s staff and we buy cars from them frequently. Imagine that. Customer service actually matters!!! Take notes Porsche/Ferrari.

I was just offered an allocation at my local Porsche dealership for the new 911 Dakar, with a market adjustment of $100k over MSRP, $350K total price. The dealer told me that the car would bring $500k on the open market and said that they had turned down $200k over MSRP from other dealers to get their allocation. I did a little research and found a Dakar for sale, with 172 miles, for $410K. I told them that once I bought the car and then paid the taxes, tag and full PPF, I would have almost $400K in the car, and thought the $100k market adjustment was too high, so I offered them $300k total, and they turned down my offer. I believe that once more of the Dakar’s are on the open market, the price for a used Dakar will continue to drop, well below $400K. Your assessment of what the dealers are doing is spot on. There is no more customer service and putting the best interest of the customer first. I also had a similar situation occur with the MB AMG Black Series when they first came out. The dealer said that the Black Series would be a million dollar car, and now you can buy them used for under $400K.

PJ is spot on once again. The 992 GT3RS craze market is going to take a very heavy hit over the next year just like all the others. My prosche dealer that sold me my 992 turbo s at sticker has now offered me a allocation for a 992 GT3rs for "only" $150K OVER sticker. Taking my high spec weissach package to out for door for over $460K. I declined! But as you now see the used market "trying" to get $600k+ for these cars due to the hype. However this will be very short lived as I just watched a 992 gt3RS weissach bid up to only $425k on Pcarmarket and DID NOT sell. Its a great car but not worth that kind of money and there's going to be alot of people holding the bag on this car if they paid these looney numbers and didnt get out fast enough.

The need to sell the Porsche back to the dealership at retail price is real. I’m in the UK and after being loyal to a dealership for 8 years has basically caused me to walk away. The relationship is all BS and to negotiate elsewhere with new secondhand is the way to go. 👍🏻. Great video

Also in the UK here and I just hold my calm over the initial BS on any new GT product and wait for dealers to start replying the early customers who just wanted to have the newest toy first and then she’d it. Dealers the sell in used and approved and make a big margin but I’m still only paying used market rate or a little over a it from a Porsche Dealer. I even have one dealer who I work with on what my perfect GT3RS spec would be and they then select a customer who is buying new from them and gently ‘guide’ them as closely to my desired spec as they can .. I bought a pre-owned Targa 4 GTS after searching several months. My advice is to be patient. I live in Palm Beach area and found both Bramen in W Palm Beach and Champion in Ft Lauderdale very difficult to deal with. They are arrogant and ask unrealistic prices for cars and unwilling to negotiate. I just kept calling around different dealerships until I found some inventory in Naples FL. They were willing to work with me and I saved at least $20K off of what the useless salesmen wanted at the other shops. So I wound up driving 2 or 3 hours to get to Naples and saved a bunch of cash. I have also bought a 911 in CA and shipped it - something worth doing if it's the right car at the right price. But I'd only do that if the car was CPO'd since I dont want problems. The one I bought in CA was CPO, and it did have some problems, but the local dealer fixed it all under warranty.

I know I shouldn't say this but Porsche has found an ingenious way to continue making money from selling their not so great products to keep inventory moving. I do agree that if one has saved enough for their dream car, they should just be able to walk in an order that limited production car at MSRP but that's less money in their pocket and let's face it more money will always win over less money for a business. I also believe that this is being done to get enough allocation for the limited cars from the manufactarers to continue this tradition of "buying more cars to get the car you want" routine.

The US needs to adopt laws in place to stop mark ups over MSRPs. Pretty much most of the world operates in this manner. Thankfully, living outside the US means I got all my 911s and my recent 4RS at MSRP. Which, speaking of 4RS, I’ve seen dealers ask 330K (120K mark up) for. That’s insane. Where I live, selling for over MSRP is considered illegal. Now, I wouldn’t also put all the blame fully on US regulators, but also Porsche themselves. These dealerships are ruining the brand Porsche sets itself to be. I remember growing up as a kid and watching commercials boasting about the experience of purchasing a Porsche from the purchase to the drive. Porsche HQ needs to start cracking down on markups and revoke licenses on dealers that are honestly just taking advantage of the brand.

I worked at a Porsche dealer as a tech for 16 years. The sales dept & dealer principal was one of the reasons I left. Their attitude towards ripping people off and their dishonest behaviour made me sick. They are worse than vultures. All they see is $$$$$$. Unfortunately there are some people who have more money than sense and don’t care how much money over msrp it is. They will still buy it. 👎🏽👎🏽

Thank you for this. Indeed the same is happening in the UK. I refuse to fall victim of the scandalous behaviour. Although Ferrari eventually called me to invite me to pick up the model I want. Generally, both brands do exactly what you say. Recent example was that an 812 comp (with all the option which came to £575k) is offered to me (supposedly by invite) at £1.2m. And I won’t be the first registered owner! Outrageous. You can imagine the answer they’ve got - put it where the sun doesn’t not shine! £650k over list price! Is insane!

He’s correct up to a point, but he didn’t tell us how he would allocate 4 cars with 300 applications. Should Porsche flood the market as Merc did with the terrible GTR and GTS models? Supply and demand! If you listen to this guy and wait you’ll wait for a very very long time, Porsche didn’t start this in 2020, the people started this in 2020, although GT Porsche products have always been exclusive maybe with the exception of the GT4, but to say the GT4RS “you’d have to buy one to get the GT3RS” and you don’t want the GT4RS is total and blatant nonsense, 40 GT4RS’s have been allocated to the UK, Porsche had thousands of applications. But my question is still, how would he as a dealership allocate 2 cars to hundreds of customers? Just another minor point when my pal was allocated one of the GT4RS’s never was a mention by the salesman he would have to sell the car back to them, however he did and has been allocated the new GT3RS, he always has an interim from Porsche and doesn’t lose a penny as the dealership gives him what he paid as has happened several times. A little information can be dangerous, I suggest doing a little more research with buyers and dealers instead of bad mouthing brands that maybe decided they didn’t want to work with you for whatever reason and not labeling hardworking, underpaid salesmen as bouncers. My last point is if I wanted Tom Cruise to star in my movie about a daffodil at the bottom of my garden and I offered him £50 he’d probably say no! That’s because he’s exclusive, might not be for ever but for now he is. Get over it lick your wounds and move on!

I tried to get a GT3 this past month and they told me the same thing, this is in Houston. Sales person stated that they need you to be a repeat buyer or of course money will talk, or hundreds of thousands of market up for an allocation. Tbh, I think it should be like first come first serve or highest paid get the allocation, instead of a repeat customer that "should" sell it back to the same dealer. The sale's person was giving me some excuse to why that is but I didn't care to listen to that nonsense. Just scroll through the comments and you can also see repeat 911 buyers and still having issues with markets and the tactic is too get them to purchase vehicles not a GT series. It is what it is, but this video is right from the comments.

I love Porsche & currently own a Panamera Turbo, what an amazing car. I also own several other sports cars. I have a 2020 C8 Corvette & drove it to my local Porsche dealer about 2 months ago. It’s paid for & was looking to possibly trade in for a new 911 Turbo. I spoke with the young GM of the dealership, he told me they weren’t interested in the trade & wanted 60k over for the car they had in-stock. I gotta tell you I was blown away! Haven’t made a move but I’m not paying 60k over so a used 911 or Lamborghini might be the direction I go. SUPER disappointed Porsche would allow customers to be treated so poorly. You are correct things will turn around some day & hopefully people remember this BS.

Talked to my local P dealer after buying a GT4 in 2020 then trading it back for a .2 GT3 and wanting a new 992 GT3. They said they would sell me the GT3 allocation for 25 K over, and offered me 25K under market value and would only do the deal if I gave them my car now and waited. Also wanted me to take a GTS at 25K over until the GT3 came in… ohh, and I couldn’t sell it and had to trade it in when the GT3 came in. It was the dumbest thing Ive ever heard. But hey, they do have a used Red GT4RS for 320K LOL.

Yep…It’s turned into a game. Was on the hunt for a GT4. Ended up finding one. Went back and fourth on price and we could not come to an agreement. The worse part was I need more about this particular car which the dealer was selling because I did my HW on it. Couple days later go to another local Porsche dealership. Put in an allocation on a GTS 4.0. Was promised it would arrive at around one year. Dealer ran my finances, took a cc to hold for deposit. Said in two weeks I would see the deposit on my cc. Ended up not getting charged for a deposit because the dealership does not have any allocations………

In 2011 I purchased a used 986S as my retirement car...as a factory worker that's all I could afford. I've heard all the jokes about it not being a real Porsche but I really do love it! In the early days I had all service done at the nearest Porsche dealership an hours drive away. Then I found an independent garage with Porsche experience three blocks from me. I went from $160/hr to $90/hr labour and a 2 min. drive from my house. The Porsche dealership still leaves messages five years later that my car is overdue for maintenance...lol

My husband and I have been Porsche clients for many years. Just bought a 2024 in Feb. we want to build a car so thought on the 911 Turbo S which they have the allocation for but with a 50,000 ADM for a total of approx 330,000. We did negotiate the ADM down to 35,000.. still crazy to me but I’ve decided that I want a 718 Spyder RS build instead which they have an allocation too. Which is about 100,000 less. My sales guy said that the RS spyder is a market vehicle with about 75,000 to 100,000 ADM that’s nuts. He said I’ll be paying way more for this than the Turbo S. Over 330,000 for a 200,000 tops car. Makes me so upset. I try to stay loyal but this crap makes it hard. Thanks for the video. You open my eyes. 👀 I’m a new subscriber. Your videos are very informative. 🤣

1) Mostly exotic rentals and people who want to modify would buy those "unwanted" and they'd become cheaper 2) They would buy those demanded cars and flip them after some time (or make "long time rental" not to break that no-flip period). 3) unwanted would need to be better or more base level (cheaper) 4) Dealerships/brands not doing that would take some of their market share.

Calling out Lamborghini on this as well. A certain dealership in Thousand Oaks California took a deposit on the Revuelto. A year later, after sitting on 10k of mine, they first call me saying they can't get me an allocation. Fair enough, hard to believe on a new car but whatever. 2 days later somehow they could get me car no. 6 if I bought an AMG Black series from them? At, I'm not even kidding, 50k above market value. Which was already 100k above MSRP then. A merc dealer literally a block away was selling one for 40k less. Absolute scammers.

When you have someone like Jay Leno saying he won't buy a Ferrari because of their ridiculous gatekeeping, you know there are going to be future problems. I agree with him too and apply it to Porsche as well...I'm not jumping through one single ridiculous hoop to have the "privilege" of handing over my money to a dealer! I'll just keep my 2009 997 Turbo (which I do love) for the rest of my life at this point. I found a great independent Porsche specialist to do the routine maintenance that is beyond my skill/patience level and only visit the dealer for the occasional odd part. My car has been trouble free, so I will give Porsche credit for building a well engineered and reliable car, but they REALLY need to fix the sales/dealer experience. Why in the world would a 911 Turbo driver want to buy a Macan to get a possible future allocation of a new 911 Turbo? Insanity! If you have a nice car, keep what you have, enjoy knowing the title is in your hands and go drive and enjoy it! Life is short!

The worst is Beverly Hills Porsche, a salesman, Samuel, who claims he is a top salesman in the country, has to joyride every single car when they arrive on the truck.
