I appreciate Dr. MacArthur most for not shying away from the preaching and teaching of the Doctrines of God's sovereign grace in the 100% finished work of Christ. He preaches and teaches these things boldly and in a way that all can understand clearly what he is saying. I have been following his ministry for over 30 years since the very early 90's at least, and his stance on the sovereign grace of God in the salvation of sinners has gotten stronger in that time, not weaker. This is true for Dr. Sproul as well.

Thank you for speaking out in truth against all the slander that has come up against him. I recently spoke to my own pastor, Tom Pennington, who served in a pastoral role with John for many years. He set the record straight regarding GCC and what transpired regarding allegations of siding with abusive husbands over their abused wives. In spite of a recent article from Christianity Today and what they would have people believe, GCC did no such thing and it’s a shame to hear so many people slander this ministry with utter lies. Thank you again for standing up for the truth of God’s word and for those who have been faithfully preaching it. Keep up the good work, brother.

Pastor MacArthur IS a caring pastor. Ten years ago, my son died. I don't know why I did this, but I sent a letter to MacArthur sharing this. He replied with a most beautiful, caring letter. And he doesn't even know me. On another occasion, I do not remember what I wrote to him, but he replied with a letter ending with, "You are a true Berean, Dale." I knew exactly what he meant. And, remember, he does not even know me! If you do not know what that means, reads Acts 17:10-11.

John MacArthur is awesome! I have been a follower of Jesus Christ for many years. I first went to Grace Community Church in September, 2020. John Mac Arthur was one of the few pastors that continued to sheperd the flock in person when the government told churches to shut the doors and walk away because the church was considered " non essential." John MacArthur is educated, he is wise, and he teaches and lives what the bible says. I have since become a member. God kept putting in my heart safety. This church is a safe place because we receive the truth of the bible. 2 of my grandchildren have also coming for 2 1/2 years. They get solid bible teaching and application. I love being on the campus. The oresence of God dwells there. The people represent the true meaning of wht the church should look like. Thank you Jesus!

I am a very staunch follower of Dr. John MacArthur. Being a 30-year born-again Christian, I've not yet met his equal as far as having the Biblical knowledge he possesses, plus the heart and love of other Christians. Having The compassion he displays for everyone, Race, Color, or Creed, is an anomaly in this reckless age because he knows that is what Jesus Christ was all about! I know from personal experience that he would 'take a bullet' for one of Jesus' lost sheep. Not many Preachers will bend over backward to ensure that what he teaches is the unadulterated Word of God and not even consider lightening up the Gospel message as so many in this environment have been doing. Lastly, he never dresses up. the Word when difficult passages come into play. I only wish that I was living within a reasonable distance that would allow me to regularly attend Grace Church routinely! Thank you and Bless you for reading my comment.

I have never met Dr. MacArthur in person, but I am on my 2nd copy of his study Bible and have used these two extensively over the last few decades (I still own the original but it's quite bruised and battered). I have also given out many of these bibles as gifts - that's how much I believe in them. I also was very disturbed by the people ridiculing him, especially in that the criticisms they mentioned were completely unfounded. I am a lowly member of Grace Community Church…a widow with an adult disabled son…ten years ago i nearly lost my son as he was critically ill and hospitalized for six weeks. When he was being taken into ICU, i got a call…Yes, John MacArthur. I cried so i did not hear a word he said. His daughter and son-in-law came by later bringing food and clean clothes. I am on the Grace to You mailing list, and every month I get either or CD or a book, which is what he is sending out currently. I have heard him say they send out thousands of free items every month. And, they will not drop you if you do not donate to the ministry. One time earlier this year, when I was making my donation, I asked the lady how many free items they send out every month. She told me over 19,000! When I make my donation I know it is going to pay for the CD/Book for someone one cannot afford to make a donation. Many years ago I sent a letter to him with a question. He closed his letter by saying to me, "You are a real Berean, D____. I knew exactly what he meant. And he doesn't even know me. When my son died, I sent him a letter. He replied with a very touching and caring response. (My church did nothing!) So, yes, he is a true and caring man of God. EVERY pastor should have the gift of empathy, or get out of the ministry.

Appreciate you sharing this! Dr MacArthur spoke at my Seminary several years ago. I never got a chance to meet him. I have benefited greatly from his ministry. Yes he's not a perfect man and sins like everyone else. I don't believe that all these accusations are true. I think something else is going. I think they're trying to undermine the faith by discrediting a high profile leader.

I was a Foursquare Pentecostal, Tithing, Sunday School Teacher. A few years ago I lost my job. After going to the Pastors for help they gave my family 3 free Ralph Turkey Coupons, and a check for $125. That was not why I left, it was the current interpretation of the Foursquare Church on 1 Corinthians 11:28, coming from the, "Spirit Filled Bible." The Church I left allowed women who wanted to be men to partake Communion.

Doctor MacArthur has done a lot of good and has been very consistent with his approach to scripture. And certainly some of the attacks and criticisms of him personally have been motivated by people who simply got their feelings hurt or had theological or doctrinal disagreements with him. But an unbiased and objective assessment of the situation will leave you with the obvious observation that he invites unnecessary conflict with his overly aggressive style and often callous criticisms of others. On specific issues like Calvinism, he doesn't treat the issue as one where honest Believers can have honest disagreement. He States explicitly that Calvinism is true and if you disagree with that then you hate the gospel. And when people, including those who formerly attended his church and have great respect for him, offer respectful disagreements on secondary issues, talks about them as if they are Heretics. He undoubtedly loves the Lord and obviously loves the word of God. But his personality and temperament has grown more jaded, cynical, and essentially grumpy over the years and it is caused many to be put off by him. He has gradually adopted a very close-minded view of how churches should be run, attended, and even look. And all who disagree with him in the slightest are simply wrong. That's not Grace.
