I always felt there equipment looked more ergonomically pleasing to the eye compare to our staff ( Otis )

@@philipcollins3849 Their DMR controllers were beautifully made, the looming of the wiring and switch gear and engraving was all very similar to what Rolls Royce were producing at the same time. The door gear however was a turd compared to a 6970 fed via a saturable reactor which was way over engineered

Yes 100% agree with you the 6970 was a vastly superior door operator apart from the oil leaks but they would run forever

You can tell the exact year of manufacture on the plate on the controller cabinet. Listed on the Serial number, 68/007 The number before the “/“ meaning the year. So 1968 for this one! Although I’m not certain if it is the year of actual manufacture or the year of commissioning. I’d imagine there could be as much as maybe 2 years between the two for larger projects, although I’m not sure. Probably is manufacture though.

I recall seeing this type of floor selector in previous video of Westinghouse elevator and/or similar ones. How many floors is this building? I see the machine is geared traction.
