Learning how to express "to" and "from" when going places in Russian isn't too difficult, but we do need to pay attention to context. Are you going "to" a city, or country? Or an island, or dacha, or a concert? Or maybe to a friend's place?
Knowing how to express "to" is also the key to expressing "from" a place, whether it's a city, an event, or your friend's place (or a dentist!).
In this video we'll cover all the possibilities, including the case endings you'll need to go with each preposition. One thing that helps me is that к works like zu in German. And the kicker is that both к and zu require the dative! Yet I still need to remember that there's a case difference between the two languages when you're already at a person's house (у + genitive in Russian, bei + dative in German).

Omg this is so helpful in learning Russian! As a Cebuano speaker, I can relate to these motion/movement words since we have a similar concept too.

KZbin really encourages shorts, and some commenters have said they're helpful for a quick review; but they do require a quick pace, and so aren't suitable for introductions or thorough discussion. For a more leisurely pace and more examples on this topic, try this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4GuiYp-iKqMfck 🙂
