Thank you, you are very welcome. Nitram have created some very exciting NEW products for artists to use recently. These include Charcoal aquarelle which comes in a small flat compact tin and is a compressed media which is great to paint with. Liquid charcoal also available in tube form. Do check out their website and products. More of my paintings to be found in their artists gallery too. Enjoy!

@@RobertDuttonFineArt Aquarelle is one of my favorite media! I use Derwent aquarelle graphite, and Derwent tinted charcoal pencils. I will certainly try Nitrams products. I checked out more of your videos lastnight, your artistic gift is exceptional. Thank you again!🇺🇲🖌🖊🖋🎨

Hi Patricia, thanks for the comment. Most kind. You too can be as good. It's a case of effort to reward really. Drawing skills are of prime importance. Nothing fancy - just an understanding of the basics as perspective, tone and composition. Other skills are gained as you get going. I have had a recent book published called 'Drawing Dramatic Landscapes'. In the book I use lots of different media including Nitram charcoal. you may be interested in that. Here is a link: rdcreative.co.uk/shop/drawing-dramatic-landscapes-publication Good luck with everything creative you do too.

Hi Robert, wondering what sort of easel (make) is the one you are using ? I have found it very difficult to locate a lightweight field easel that won't burn a hole in my pocket

Please say more about the inks you used and what 'fusain' means. Many users of this product report that the charcoal sticks do not easily fit into the provided stylus.

Wel I never! I had no idea that charcoal came in such grades/thickness- those chunky pieces! Wow. of course - a joy to see them being used in the hands of a master. Thank you so much for the revelations, Robert. Jac Seery

How was the white achieved on building? Lovely piece thanks for the demo I'm interested in trying them now.

Hi Penny, glad you like the video and are keen to try. The white of the building is fundamentally the white of the paper and then white pastel on the top of creative marks. I find that Royal Talens Rembrandt pastels are the best for this - the perfect consistency to allow accurate marks and not so soft they create a difussed edge. With a bit of pressure a sharp continuous line is achieved with a newly broken piece or one fresh and new straight out of the box. Hope that helps. Enjoy!
