So I was not planning to cover every little detail in ExpressLRS because that video would probably be over an hour long and maybe only cover 25% of everything. However, some people were messaging me that they want me to cover the entire ExpressLRS.com website in detail. Would anyone watch the whole thing? That would also take a long time for me to edit as well. Just curious if there are people who just can't read the website but would rather have someone else read out everything in a video. Comments?

Couldn't resist trying out ELRS on a couple micro quads because it's so inexpensive to get into. This will probably get easier and easier - even since this video they've updated the configurator so you just select your device category, device, and method (wifi, UART or BF passthrough). I was really surprised at how simple it was, but this vid is a great sanity check for people new to ELRS.

So I flashed my transmitter ( radio master Zorro) and now my drone won’t bind to my transmitter. I’ve tried everything and I can’t seem to get it to work. I just got into the hobby and this is my only drone and I really don’t know what I’m doing (and I feel like quitting fpv) but I don’t want to and I’m willing to do anything to fix this The drone I’m using is the betaFpv meteor 65 2022 version so I would like to get some help. My last resort will be to go to a hobby shop and fix this but is anyone know how to fix this please let me know

I’ve been wanting to convert all my smaller quads to ELRS for some time, because it works great, receivers are tiny, and I like the bind phrase approach. However, there are compatibility issues with the various receivers (both PP and EP1/2) and the UARTS on several common F4-based AIO boards, which keep me from fully converting for now.

@@AlbertKimTV On some UARTs on some boards (such as the AIO on the Smart 35), the EP series gets into bootloader mode every time you power on the quad, because of the state of the RX pin on power up. There is a workaround involving a pull up resistor. The PP has a different issue on some boards where pass through flashing doesn’t work (but once flashed, it works in normal use, but have to take it out to update firmware).

I been messing with ExspressLRS since Rc2. The link is awesome. But it still isnt as user friendly as Crossfire. I have had trouble with the WiFi updates constantly. And if your receiver is mounted in your quad and your trying to update via Betaflight passthrough you better unhook your vtx or air unit (Because it might overheat).Its still a little fiddly trying to plug up the FC in the right time to perform the update to the reciever. I been using a Aio FC just to update the recievers then install them in my quads.Now I dont know if things has got better since the new 01 release? I'm still on RC8 because I got six receivers and two tx's to update. love the price point and range for the money. You cant beat it! If it gets as easy as crossfire with dependable over the air updates. Then the competition will be in trouble!

If you use FC with power via USB, no worries about overheating and it only take a minute for the Configurator to compile the firmware and flash it if you've done it before. I was able to update over 20 receivers in less than an hour with the configurator. I don't bother with wifi updates anymore. The passthrough feature is working well for me.

Hi Albert i hope yopu have been well. I have ELRS connected to foxeer f7 v2 and the its is bound but i have zero stick movement..3.01 elrs. It says telem lost when i turn off and telem recov when powered up, but no sticks movement bfc

Only reason I don't solely use Elrs is because I fly planes without an Fc. If not for the 3 planes I fly it would be elrs and nothing else

You know you can get an R9m receiver and flash it for use with the SBUS pad and then use an SBUS to PWM converter, right?

Currently I think ExpressLRS doesn't output SBUS. They are looking at it as a solution to support FC-less aircraft. Somebody is also working on an ELRS PWM RX for like 4/6/8 ch I think.

@@mgtschida There is an option in the Configurator for the R9m mini receivers to enable the SBUS pad... If you download and run the configurator, you'll see that option there but it's only for those specific receivers.

I have a problem, my range is so bad with my r9 2019 900mhz. 400 meters and failsafe. A new reciever and antenna are helping nothing ( other reciever placement too). I flasht both new? My lq is most of the time high but the rssidb is so low i have after 300meters -90 at 50 mw ???? Can someone help me

@@AlbertKimTV i use the acces r9m from 2019 with the newest elrs version, with the qx7 accst. The new reciever is the nano 900mhz reciever from geprc with the long antenna and yes, the same firmware version is installed

At the time of the video creation, the firmware targets were at v1.0.0 while the Configurator was at v1.0.1. The versions DO NOT correspond. Updates between the two occur at different rates.

Since you posed the question, 'Better than Crossfire' in the video title, I'll give my input on that. No, it's not better than Crossfire. Not by a long shot. It's cheaper than Crossfire, but c'mon, Crossfire does insanely simple over the air updates and binding is a matter of navigating to the menu in your transmitter and selecting bind. It couldn't be easier. As far as 'digging' the receiver out of a bind and fly to bind to it, please. Remove a few screws and you're in there, press the button and you're done. The process in this video is a complete disaster compared to Crossfire.

Couldn't disagree with you more. Sure, the crossfire ecosystem is more refined and has a several years of a head start but I feel ExpressLRS is catching up fast and the simple fact no binding is needed is a big deal for someone like me who has to bind up new quads on a daily basis. So many times I've had to take apart a brand new BNF to dig out the RC because the damn auto bind feature didn't work! So F'n frustrating! The bind phrase feature eliminating the binding process is like hidden gold. I absolutely love it. However, you're entitled to your opinion. I just feel like ExpressLRS just might be the future for me and I may be dumping all my Crossfire gear sooner than later.

You can bind Tracer (and I think Crossfire) both from Agent X and also from the crossfire/tracer long press menu config on your radio. No need to dig it out of the quad to hit a button
