As for coilovers, would you guys go for Tein or BC racing?

You will find you can use the plates with Teins as they are since there's no springs on front shocks with that setup but with BCs you'll need to drop the BC top mount and use a modified top spring perch.

Currently using Tein S lowering springs on my EG and they are pretty good...i choose Tein because they do a lot of R&D on there products as well as track testing, not sure about the other brand

Will you be putting a roll cage in this car in the future? Would be interesting to see how much it would hurt lap times.
@TheMidnightGarage5 жыл бұрын
Yes im actually planning on doing just that as i would like to see the difference in lap times as well!

A cheaper option which worked gread in my case where topheads from an old Fiat Panda.They move the mounting point of the strut slightly upwards, they are stiffer and due to a slimmer design and slightly smaller mounting bolts you can add a bit of camber as well. Not bad for a literally 10-buck-part.

You should consider retrofitting a DC2 rear ARB sometime too. It improves handling 10 fold
@TheMidnightGarage5 жыл бұрын
Good idea! But will they fit the 3g civic? It has a solid rear beam suspension instead of the independent suspension of the later models
@thatmanwiththepizzas5 жыл бұрын
@@TheMidnightGarage yeah dude you'll need some metal plate, angle iron, adjustable droplinks (I used eBay VW ones) some 3-3.5" exhaust d clamps. You have to drill the boot floor though but it's definitely worth it! Do a search on RPR Facebook page and there will be pics on there maybe even a guide but it's a pretty easy job once you have all your holes and metal cut and drilled ready 👍
@thatmanwiththepizzas5 жыл бұрын
@@TheMidnightGarage you clamp the ARB to the rear beam using the exhaust clamps, some people have even welded the clamps on permanent
@GrafKroete5 жыл бұрын
You can more or less use any rollbar on these the way Jason discribed it. Btw. the rear axle is a semi-solid beam axle. The right side trailing arm is flexible mounted. The AG and AL don't have an anti-swaybar in the rear at all, the others have a internal swaybar working against the twisting motion of the trailing arm against the axle beam. Chedda offeres a kit for locking it completly. He also has a set of rear camber/caster plates that eliminates that swinging mechanism.

I have some 3degree rear plates for sale too 😎
