Cornwall is my home and my ancestry. The train to st Ives, great days out of summer, all my life. So glad to see the upgrades. Hope all infrastructure in Cornwall gets upgraded. Can't wait to come home again next year and be there again.

Good to hear that passenger demand is up. Next thing is to get passing loops in place, if the line can't be doubled, to enable an increase in trains per hour. Frequency is freedom.

Assuming the "5-car train" means 5 cars of 20m length, that should also mean the platforms would be suitable for a 4-car train of 24m coaches (at only ~4m shorter).

ERTMS is coming at some point, but that doesn't actually mena they have to remove the semaphore signals does it? It must be possible to link the semaphores into a new signalling system such that the semaphores just show what the computers are also saying?
