I've never seen a better performance single performance. Tamgho had like 3 jumps over 18m and one of them was at least 18.20 or higher. 18.04 is still crazy

6 years later Teddy Tamgho is nowhere close to jumping the WR, Taylor has the 2nd longest jump in history with 18.21 and Will Claye has the 3rd longest jump in history with 18.14

Except that's not the complete story is it? Tamgho has been plagued by back to back to back season ending injuries... To the point where he seems to just be calling it a career.

Tamgho definitely was 'the pioneer' of the 18 metres club at 21st century. The 18.04m attempt was the best over the last 17 years and just after that athletes like Taylor, Claye, Pichardo, and more recently Zango, started to jump 18 metres.

I'm expecting Tamgho to break the WR in TJ this year or next year.

If Claye can add more power and jump to his 3rd phase he can cruise to 18m
@mh0Ang9510 жыл бұрын
Are you serious? His 3rd phase is his longest already... by no means is it a weak one... I think his 2nd phase will be key
@AramDovlatyan10 жыл бұрын
Matt Ha Not necessarily in my opinion, he seems to struggle with getting his legs up. In addition, most of the other jumpers seem to have a huge pop in the 3rd phase. The traditional distance percentage breakdown of the phases is 35% 30% 35% respectively, and I think he can get some work done on the 3rd phase, give it more explosiveness.
