"what is that small part?" Its the antenna for the radio that raises up when the car is started, then retracts when the car is turned off.

alexander1485 no that year Cadillac you had to raise and lower the antenna by a knob that was powered

The small silver part near the door is a the radio antennae, however it is retracted. And the other small parts at the end of the fenders are lights that tell the driver if the turning signals are on.

Yes, that part-in-question is the power retractable radio antenna. The Cadillac Series 75 limousines were built at the Clark St. Cadillac plant in Detroit, Michigan. BoS does a superb job with the propor-tools in 1:18 scale relative to the 1:1 actual automobile.

Beautiful model. I always liked the big North American cars of the 60's & 70's, especially Cadillac's, Lincoln's and Imperials.

The small chrome inserts at the top of the fenders are for turn indicators for the driver to see. No flag involved.

12:05 isnt there supposed to be a downward pointing exhaust tip at the end of that muffler? I saw that in Just Some Models' video of the Caddy so maybe that part is missing on yours. I'm planning to buy the blue one and both your videos have helped me a lot. :)

I've owned a '65 Sedan Deville hardtop and a '67 Deville convertible. The turn signal indicators on the fenders were actually one of the first uses of fiber optics, the light you saw on the fenders was coming directly from turn signals in the grill .

I have the newer model 1967 Fleetwood 75 in Admiralty Blue that was released in 2019. (BOS Item number: 231607). Mine is #72 of 300. There are a couple of peculiarities which in comparing with photos of the 2018 version in black (BOS Item number 215128) shown in your video, as well as photos of the real 1967 Cadillacs I actually owned, are unnecessary mistakes and deviations from the original prototype. The inclined transition to the tailfin below the limo window @ 8:03 is too high into the windows. The prototype has a much less severe angle and more window depth, where the model depicts the sheet metal impinging into the bottom of where the window should have started. A further annoyance that seems really unnecessary is the location of the terminating end of the center body molding and location of the Fleetwood wreath just ahead of the bumper @ 10:15. When viewed at a slight angle from the rear tail lamp, the side trim should end exactly level with the bottom division-chrome of the red center of the taillight. For some reason, both the BOS '67 Cadillac models. the Coupe (which I also own) and Fleetwood, have been modeled with the trim descending in a curved arc, downward after the fender skirt rather than following the straight line. This is a really unnecessary mistake on a model that otherwise even went to the trouble to employ a different finish on the hubcaps to more authentically depict the difference between the brushed stainless and give the correct reflection pattern in the hubcap dish and rim. It looks like the rookie mistake a body shop would make in repairing the rear quarter-panel and not properly researching and marking out the original trim lines before installing the body moldings. It should not have been difficult to verify the correct position of the body trim - considering all the other fine scale reproduction present on these '67 Cadillac models. Finally, there is a pronounced / \ in the body side profile from the front door seam to the front bumper - as if the mold had been forced upward between the rear edge of the front fender and the leading edge of the front door of both the black and blue versions of the Fleetwood. As a result, there is far too much downward slope from the windshield, across the hood. The front fenders have too much angle at the headlight frames when seen from the side. Even the center body trim takes a kinked drop downward at a steeper angle. It looks like the car was in an accident and suffered frame damage behind the front wheel arches. The BOS '67 Coupe De Ville does not suffer from this distortion and has the correct body lines of the 1967 Cadillac side profile. This is not as obvious if the model is displayed below eye-level. Unfortunately, mine is in a shelved Lexan display case at eye-level, so it's hard to miss - especially when you know the car. (I owned several '67 Cadillacs from 1978-2016). Otherwise a nice model with great attention to detail. If you compare BOS with the 1:18 KK models 1967's, you can recognize extra effort in getting the the optics for the headlights and taillights to look prototypical and not cheap and toy-like is not to be taken for granted. The trademark 'egg-crate' aluminum grille and bumper assembly were also faithfully reproduced to shadow between the sections and create a very realistic, not overchromed molded, impression. Even as previously mentioned, the hubcaps being of a slightly more golden and matt finish that very well depicts the look of the real car, was very thoughtfully reproduced! Too bad they let a couple of really rookie mistakes through! Nice review - except for not knowing what the power antenna and front fender-mount turn-signal indicators were... hehe.. Thank you!

Looks like the rear right tire has something sticky on it, also I take the rear tire being harder to turn as realistic since in reality the rear wheels are attached to the engine.

Great video. Really detailed. The price though?? No suspension, no chassis detail . No engine, trunk or opening doors. No turntable wheels. This is unacceptable for a mini champ f1 car. This is robbery for a model like this. Great body. Nice wheels and tires.

Thank you for the video ! The 67 Cadillac is beautiful. After I watched this video, you have me searching everywhere for this model. Can you tell me where I can find this ? I actually would buy two one for myself, and one for my brother who owns an actual 1966 black Cadillac (the real car). I know the 1966 Cadillacs, and 1967 Cadillacs are a slightly different design, but they're very similar. I get what you mean about the Resin models, nothing opens, the wheels don't turn, and the bottom has no detail, which sucks, but the model itself is gorgeous !! Anyways, please help ! I subscribed and liked your video.

Very surprised that you bought a BoS model. They are car-shaped objects, with no opening features. The protrusion that confuses you is the BoS rendition of the cars retracted ariel by the way.😁😉

BOS makes some beautiful models that no one else will do. However, they do have some pretty major draw backs. I agree they use way too much silver paint instead of chrome, the window films also look cheap and often fit poorly with some bowing, and the biggest issue is that their quality control is more times than not pretty poor. It doesn't bother me that they are sealed and have no chassis detail.

you want to attatch flags on the control lights for the frontlamps on top of the front fenders, it's not a 600 Pullmann mind you. Many Ammy's have these lights so you won't have to get out of your car to check if the lights work proper nice thought eh?! You just look over that endless bonnet (drove a Caddilac Biarritz once) and if you see 2 little lights your headlamps are working fine. The windows of Boss models are a true disaster I recently bought a 1:18 Opel Rekord D sedan with those thin plastic windows someone pushed in the rear window and now it has dents wich are really difficut to get out even with tape. Normally one wraps flowers or candy in that quality of plastic. And yes, the chrome on the windows looks stupid too it's just greay paint. So Best of Show rename to Nothing works Nothing goes except your wallet that suffers dear rofl. I keep saying, go buy the Norev Mercedes 200T model and see that everyhing works, has great detail, fabric in the boot, and that for 85 euros thank you!! If you insist on a model that can't do shit buy one from KK models al least that is in die cast with hard plastic windows that won't damage.

If you want this specific model car, Norev is not making them. That's the reason to look somewhere else.

@@ExternalStar shure, my dad (rip) had an Opel D and no one has them in 1:18 so I had to get one from the resin firm. But as soon as a decent manufacturer like Norev comes with a diecast it will fly out eventually in the dust bin I couldn't care less.

Marek, I don't know how long you've been collecting , so I'll only make one comment that exposes a lack of your historical knowledge of diecasts and 1/18th cars There are a number of old tools by co.'s such as Anson , Signature Sunstar Ricko offerred nice detail and others that produced car's of the 30's 40's and more that offer so much more substance, detail and VALUE than this resin I won't say "junk".....In particular Signature did some spectacular Packards , Caddy's Dusenbergs of the era, and don't forget Cords and Auburns by Ertl !!
@ImperialDiecast
@ImperialDiecast 4 жыл бұрын
im no expert myself, but I feel land yachts from the late 1960s to the late 80s are still quite rare in the 1/18th diecast world. I know Anson did a 73 Eldorado which has become quite expensive these days, there's the 59 series 75 and 66 landau hearse both by Precision Miniatures and even more expensive, a few mostly movie cars by Greenlight, Maisto's 65 Pontiac GTO is more in muscle car territory, and in general there's tons of muscle cars from this era by ertl, autoworld, highway 61 etc. but not so many daily drivers. Most of the affordable vintage stuff is from the 50s so I feel like BoS has tapped into a niche here. Oh and there's sunstar as well, good company.
