As a former fencer, I can confirm that what they're doing is very dangerous. The most important rule is that helmets and other safety gear have to stay on when sparring with someone. In actual fencing, you're also largely confined to linear movement, so no spins, lmao.

@hikeilokei I used to fence and as soon as I saw that they had skin exposed on their arms I could just imagine how bad the bruises would be. Also taking off the mask will make you lose an eye. I fenced epee not saber but I am pretty dang sure their form is also wrong.

Plus having both arms exposed is a big no no even if they kept the masks. While the blades are dull, even if you're just slicing at each other it's still metal and often has very sharp little nicks on them. I remember one time I was fencing foil and the other guy missed and sent the end of the foil way back where it dragged against my back hand and caused bleeding. I was a beginner so my hand shouldn't have been out enough to catch a stray but still demonstrates that even a dull blade can have sharp bits

So how Ben was able to become King at 16 is explained in the books (much to my rage and annoyance). In the first book, it says that per tradition, the eldest child of the royal family would take the throne at 16. Why this annoys me so much? There has only been twenty years since Auradon was founded! Traditions are not made in twenty years, at least not when it comes to the passing down of ruling kingdoms!

Then again the very next line in the book is 'Belle and Beast were ready to retire. They were looking forward to long vacation cruises, early-bird dinners, and playing golf (Beast), bingo (Belle) and generally taking it easy' I'm of the mind that Descendants/Melissa de la Cruz's Belle and Beast are in a different universe than the animated Belle and Beast from the '92 movie cause really? You're not even gonna stay and provide *some* guidance to your sixteen year old son who also still has to go to school, do his sports, maintain his relationship and oh yeah, rule the country?! No wonder Ben is stated to have anxiety in the books!

Because he took a magic gummy, the gummy should've stopped working once he crossed the barrier. Also another plot hole that's not as important is: Why did Mal's hair stayed blonde in the isle? Since all magic doesn't work, her hair should've gone back to the original purple from the first movie because Mal used a blonde hair spell to turn her hair blonde. Those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head, but she couldn't have spelled her hair before she left because the magic would've disappeared when she crossed the barrier.

Nah I think Uma being a pirate makes sense. I mean, if we just bite the bullet and say "okay, all these evil monsters had human children," then uma being ursula's daughter makes more sense than a lot of alternatives. And considering Ursula is a sea based villain, her daughter being a pirate also makes sense. And this is also all ignoring that she has the conch shell necklace and turns into an octopus at the end. Uma being ursula's daughter makes plenty of sense, is established right away, and her being a pirate fits thematically

I think Ursula made the best of a bad situation. She's presumably one of the most high ranking people down in the docks and her daughter acquired parts of their culture. In the books the pirate kids have their own school separate from the one Mal and most of the rest went to before leaving the island. The isle has a hell of an interesting lore/culture. Aurodon is so watered down, dull, and silly in comparison. It's a shame.

I still hold on to my opinion that I personally think Descendants 2 is the best of the trilogy. I was honestly super engaged to the story, I really liked the songs and it was honestly very pleasing visually. I fell in love with Mal's dress after she turned back from a dragon (even though I don't understand how that happened but she looked cool so I'm letting it slide) I also really loved Jay's big brother relationship with Mal when he offered to take her back to the island if she wanted. I kinda felt like the movie had kind of a darker tone compared to the first one which I found interesting.

I've noticed that the second and third movie both have incrementally more songs than the one prior to it, and when you get to Descendants 3 it's really noticeable how much the songs no longer uphold the plot and rather drag it out and make simple scenes unnecessarily dramatic. I usually view songs in these sorts of dcoms as a way to highlight a scene or climactic moment, but that is just thrown at the window in D3.

I remember exactly what was happening when I first saw this movie when it came out. I was at a hotel prepping for a vacation that I am actually going on again tomorrow. My parents called me to the food lounge and I was upset I couldn’t watch the beginning. There was a tv in the food lounge and it was playing the movie. The next day the movie was on again in the morning so I got to see it all the way through.

I keep thinking that Jafars son is actually Warren Peace from Sky High. ( even though chronologically this makes no sense) Cruella being abusive to her child makes perfect sense, one of the few things about this that does. I guess I’m too logical and have too much Disney brain to think most of this makes sense, at least as far as some of the villains and heck some of the heroes having kids. Like can we take a minute and have an in depth discussion on how weird it is to have Dopey have a son??? It makes me shudder imagining that. well ironically enough, my list of "things I would 3d print if I had a printer & knew what I was doing" includes: replica knives, custom length/shape dowel bases for LARP weaponry, a model of The Colt from supernatural, articulated wolverine claws, articulated monster claws (the kind you wear on your fingers), costume horns, and armatures for my fabric sculptures. "What can you print on a 3d printer that's 8" wide and 4' tall?" ....quite a lot, actually

Hors d'œuvre is pronounced "Or duh-vr". It means appetizers, usually they're "homemade" (put nicely by someone, though you can buy them already prepared). I don't think tossing a few tomatoes and baby carrots in a bowl can be considered a hors d'œuvre, but you have to make multiple tiny dishes or tiny sandwiches.

Feels like a waste to have a plot with Ursula's daughter, who's whole deal is makin magic deals, and Mal being discontent with her life and not having Mal make some kind of disasterous deal with Uma. Like ffs Shrek Forever After this shit! Mal goes to Uma asking for a day of being able to be bad and Uma grants it, only to reveal that in order to supply this Uma used magic to make it so that she was in Mal's place during Descendants 1. You can reuse a song or two but now with China Anne McClain instead of Mal, lije have fun with it.
