Beau travail ! J'aime ce qui ce dégage , les couleurs bien associées , les aplats noirs très présents , adoucis par corrections successives . L'abstraction contrairement à ce que pensent bien des personnes n'est pas facile et demande un grand talent !

Well done. Very interesting work. I started to incorporate oil pastels with acrylics in June. Pastels are a very tactile medium that I apply and work it with my index finger. I use a heat gun afterwards to melt the oil. It's best done on a wood panel rather than canvas I've found. Give it a go!
@AddiArts5 жыл бұрын
Wow thanks for the idea, I would love to try it out!

David W. McQuarrie sounds interesting. I don’t have a heat gun and have been using a hairdryer. I’ll see if it is hot enough.

David thank you for posting these ideas! I just got a set of oil pastels (I know nothing about them and thought I was getting the chalky-type) and have felt baffled at what to do with them. Now I have a direction!

I love watching you paint this. It’s very inspiring and I enjoyed the final piece. Question: In addition to the acrylic, what are you using? Oil sticks? Soft Pastels? Charcoal? Or Oil Pastels. Also did you gesso the canvas.
@AddiArts5 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! Im glad you enjoyed it. I was using oil pastels and the canvas was already pre-primed, I didn't add any gesso to it.

I wonder if you noticed the face peeping through at the bottom right corner right above the black figure in the pink area? I’m astonished how often this happens in my paintings. Does any one else have this happening in there art work please?

Are the humans drawn with graphite, chalk? Will they stand the test of time?

They are done with oil pastel with a fixative over top! Who knows how long it will last, we'll see!
@ClaudioMartella3 жыл бұрын
@@AddiArts thanks for your reply. Which fixative?
@AddiArts3 жыл бұрын
@@ClaudioMartella I don't have a particular brand I use, but it is usually a spray fixative used to seal pastels
@ClaudioMartella3 жыл бұрын
@@AddiArts and you spray the whole canvas like you would do to seal acrylic? Does it add gloss? I'm looking for a sealant/fixture that does not add gloss (like varnish does).

What do u use to draw your characters on to the acrylic paint background?

My english is not good, but I want to say, its a very cool work. I wish I have also so big place to draw my pictures. Are the colours dry, before you make another colour over it ? Do you use thin colours (mix with water) ? Wish you a good time Karin from germany
@AddiArts6 жыл бұрын
Hi Karin! Sometimes I will wait for colors to dry to add more, and other times I will paint wet on wet, and yes I always keep the canvas wet with a spray bottle!

You give us the "1812 Overture", but cut the finale in mid-stream?! That's blasphemy! Great painting and great music. But as a musician and artist, I beg you, please, for the love of Tchaikovsky, work on your editing and timing.
@sampreston17912 жыл бұрын
This made me chuckle! Give me the first minute over the finale anyday, those first strings soothe my soul but I'm not a musician. I do feel like its an apt piece for the push-pull of abstract painting however.
