They are totally like this for real. I got to go on set this past summer and got to hand deliver a letter to Mariska telling her why I look up to her so much. We sat down and had a heart to heart as she tried to help me deal with some stuff. She's genuinely an amazingly sweet person and seeing stuff like his makes me love her even more

Laura Hand appeared as an extra in "Burned" an eighth season episode. She can be seen in the background talking with a detective at 13 minutes 37 seconds into the episode, as Stabler, Benson, walk down the hallway towards the squad room. This was a wonderful video and no doubt the happiest day in Laura Hand's life.

@@marycanary I believe Law and Order is on Net-Flix and some of the cable channels. I bought the DVD set years 1-10 back in 2011 and year 11 and 12 DVD sets. I've seen the older DVD set in the major booksellers.

Incredible opportunity. I hope Laura got a kidney transplant. So many people aren't organ donors. Make a Wish is actually the reason I became an organ donor in case anything happened to me. It's a hell of a gift to help someone survive and live another day when you've passed on. Something good to come out of something tragic. She's very lucky to have met her idol. That's something not many people can say.

I've always admired the Make-a-Wish Foundation for putting forth the effort of granting young terminal ill kids' wishes...major kudos for Mariska Hargitay and the cast of SVU to contribute, too...if I were a celeb and I learned of a young fan's wish to meet me, I'd definitely would fulfill that kid's dream, too

If you watch it again, you'll notice the guy is MUCH bigger than Richard. That is a guy that played a cop during that episode. I know Laura in real life, she didnt get to meet Richard or BD.

I loved her to bits, she could always make me laugh!! Yes 9 years seems along time but on the other hand it doesn't, it feels like just yesterday! (I get to spend a week playing sidekick to one of my heros Annemarie Lucas who's and SPCA officer in NY, and volunteering with animals.) Really? 16? That's scary, horific even. I'm sorry for your 9 year old loss, I think I'd go crazy if anything happened to one of my friends. I wonder how old Make-a-wish is.

I don't fink you understand why she got to meet her hero's! Laura has been through alot in her life and come out the otherside! Make-a-wish foundation do a wonderful job! I lost my best friend to CF and she had her dream come true by make-a-wish & the photo's of her swimming with dolphins were amazing, her smile wonderful! This is what I see in this video of Laura someone who's been through so much & desrves to have something good happen not just coz she's LUCKY! Think B4 U speak next time!

youre right. and i meant that she was lucky that she got to have this expierience. not that she was lucky that she has a terminal disease. Its horrible that her kidneys are failing. It is great that she got to do this. And yes, she was blessed in being able to make this her wish, and have it come true.

Hi illLooveU4ever. Accodring to IMDB dot com, she, her two brothers, and her parents got in a car accident when they rearended a trailer truck. Her mother and the mother's boyfriend were killed instantly. However, her two brothers survived. THe whole thing is so sad. :(

She is very thankful she was able to do this. I dont think the means to which she got to do this is concidered 'Lucky" ... Make a wish is for terminal patients. She was blessed in being able to make this her 'wish'
