You know u can put the coconuts in the freezer overnight and if you even bang them on the ground gently the shell will fall off and u will have the whole fruit come out very easily.
@REALAMERICANMAN5312 жыл бұрын
The freezer kills them though. They are trying to go extra virgin. Meaning cooking... which would also mean no freezing. Fridge temperatures are OK for this process.. freezer Temps would make it not be "extra virgin" coconut oil anymore.

Maybe freeze it after straining the blended coconut? The water that settles on the bottom of the container will be frozen hard but the coconut milk on top should stay soft. So then it will be easier to scoop out the coconut milk without wasting some of it than when both the water and coconut milk are in liquid form. Just a thought.

Virgin coconut oil can last for several years. Virgin coconut oil retains more of its natural antioxidants, giving it longer shelf life. As a general rule, coconut oil made by a wet-milling process takes longer to expire. This means the coconut oil is extracted by chemical-free methods like fermentation, refrigeration, or boiling. Its solid molecular structure and natural antibiotic properties, coconut oil has a longer shelf life than other vegetable oils.

Hi, Thanks for the video. It's so detailed :-) Please, I followed the steps given in the video but after leaving the curd to ferment for two days in a warm place, it ended up with a horrible smell and the oil didn't rise to the top. There was no water settling at the bottom either. Everything was mixed together (water, curd and oil) and giving off a bad smell. Please, what could have gone wrong? And how can I rectify it?

Unskin the brown layer of the coconut outer shell. Wash the sliced white meat of coconut twice with clean cold water before blending. While blending, again use clean warm water. Avoid touching the curd/cream during the middle of this process. Use food grade gloves if you can't avoid touching it.
