Eat The Book and Simon did well to stay out of the wreckage at that flight where the other horses went down. They got a bit tangled but came through well. Well done all the way round, congratulations.

On behalf of my brother Simon may I say a massive thank you for all the lovely comments. He is indeed an inspiration to all the aspiring athletes and people who want to achieve any goal. Never give up. Even when he was a young lad anything he pursued he gave his full commitment to achieving it. Horses were his first love, after his wife Anne of course, whom he has two daughters with, Laura and Hannah. He inspired his love of animals to Hannah, who went on to study Zoology at UCD . During his 40 years having the odd horse with my father Liam, I can genuinely say that I dont think they ever put any of their horses to sleep. Mostly got homes for them, or if their temperament was steady enough they gave the horse to a good owner ,who might hunt or jump with them. Living in Dublin was not ideal for Simon as he had to travel to ride out 3 to 4 mornings a week. I remember him telling me that Lorcan Wyer, back in the 1980 s told him he must be the only Owner getting a bus to the yard to ride his horse out, at the time he could not afford a car. Looking forward to the next outing with Eat the book, whom , by the way, got his name when he ate half the sales catalogue book that was mistakenly left in his stable , after he was bought at Tattersalls.

That is correct, he doesn't look nowhere near 60, WOW, great storyline about nearly giving up, just shows that unless fatal, keep them and look what they can do, actually like the storyline to the Seabiscuit storyline..basically broken horse, giving time to heal, and you all know what happened with Seabiscuit...this is different, because it's our generation....

Considering it went out at 40/1 industry SP and 92.53/1 Betfair SP, it's no surprise it traded significant money at the max price in-running. I don't know how much but all I know is over £100 was traded at 1000.
