There is often a huge difference between absolute minimal and recommanded minimal. Remember Deoxys defense can also be duo'd with everyone generally struggling at 4

​@AdventVFX I mean you still use a ton of resources & can miss out on XL candy by not using the correct mega. That's the disadvantage of a small group of people. Not to mention all the rocket balloons you'll need healing items for.

The main problem of this raid is you would want Purified Gems. I won't blame people estimate it in a more pessimistic way since you really don't want to fail the raid after you have already invested some gems on it. 4 is a good team size. Make sure you start a party such that you can deal much more damage with the new Party Power feature.

I knew it could be done. Everyone was panicking saying it was crazy with 5-10 people bring needed. But numbers said otherwise. Did this with a party of 3 not even hyper optimized. I think people just suck.

I would say it's more about people in general wasn't aware what they can do to push a little bit forward in raid, this was also the main reason I started posting shortmanning video, especially with using only one Pokemon. I hope shortmanning videos like this can show how much it could matter with careful planning/plays in raid battles.

Yes there are plan for another comparison video featuring Party Power. However, it is hard to find a good matchup where Party Power has the largest possible effect while it also favors the current strongest Pokemon/teams at the same time. Also another problem is those who are favored most from Party Power are not commonly used Pokemon. So it would take times for team building.

For what is good against Lugia, I have written and show some effective counters against it in past Lugia raids videos included this one. For what you could do to reach a point where you can just duo any legendary like this, it is a longer story.

Up to this point in the game, we have some really useful buff outside of the raw power a Pokemon have which can help in raids: Shadow Boost: A 20% buff from nowhere, making them more effective than even the strongest legendary Pokemon. Mega Evolution: The Community Day Pokemon (Charizard, Gengar) where almost all players has 1 powered up suddenly become the absolute best Pokemon. To a point that using a single Mega Gengar/Mega Charizard Y is better than 6 Reshiram/6 Shadow Mewtwo in Duo Raid. Primal Boost: Now the Pokemon matches those 9 types can benefits from the OP Mega Boost Eventually it's where we are now, Party Power. Party Power is the trickiest buff we have received so far, where it can gives as much as ~80% buff or as low as 5% buff, if you know what you are doing. Party Power favors Pokemon with short fast move like Bite/Lick/Dragon Breath/Fury Cutter/Thunder Shock and long charged move like Fusion Bolt/Draco Meteor/Precipice Blades.

To get thing started, I would say Mega is a good option. Mega Evolution is strong enough to a point that they don't need teammate for most T5 bosses. As shown in here, dodge the charged move, heal them and return to the battle. The best part of Mega Evolution is most of them are not legendary Pokemon so it is easier to collect their candies and power them up. Having Mega Evolution also allows you gain candy faster with their catch candy bonus to wild catches. Mega Raid are mostly easy Duo Raids, just make sure you use super-effective budget counters and have Party Play active. With Mega Evolution, you would have much more options opened. Most legendary Pokemon which is good in raid have more offensive stats (less defensive), so they are easier to be taken down. At that point, if you want to strike for the few last strongest raid boss, you would want to utilize Primal Boost and the expensive Shadow Pokemon/Legendary Pokemon. The easiest target to gain Primal Boost access would be Primal Groudon, which can be taken down by Mega Swampert. Mega Rayquaza can still be handled by Shadow Mamoswine, but having Primal Boost support is preferred. For Lugia, Zekrom is the most consistent counter for it, but you can still do it with a single Mega evolved Pokemon. For Deoxys, unfortunately, Mega Tyranitar/Mega Gengar are still the best answer for it. But Party Play should makes the Duo Raid more consistent than before. For Mega Latias/Mega Latios, Shadow Dragonite and Mega Rayquaza is the best answer for them. Latias would still be an extremely tough fight where you would want Windy weather. Unfortunately, Primal Kyogre is tough. The only consistent way to defeat Primal Kyogre is owning Primal Kyogre and utilize its own Primal Boost, with rain weather. It is hard to say what could debut in Elite Raid and how their difficulty are. Given how Galar Regis has been moved to standard T5 later, it might not worth the time to deal with them specifically.

First try. Since Purified Gem is hard to come by (if you fail some attempt) so it was done on a more consistent setup.
