This is probably my favorite part about street photography. I did professional for years before I finally got burnt out. Promised myself to not turn something I love into a job to keep it from sucking the life out of it. People are different, but that's how I prefer it. When I returned to photography, I started hitting the streets of every city I travelled to, and it's people like the group in the video that breathes life back into my hobby and keeps me going. And to see the joy and smile on everyone's faces when they see the results, you can't help but feel the same way. I'll never charge for the photos. Their smile is enough

That's hands-down the best part about being a photographer. When people see the camera, they put on such great smiles. They bring out the best versions of themselves because they want that to be captured, and it's a joy to be a part of even among complete strangers.

85mm to 400mm focal range is great for street photography with people as subjects. Although not as discrete with a huge 400mm, it feels less intrusive as you can be far away. Of course, an open area environment also plays a big part in using this focal range.

I used to do a lot of street photography before having a child, and anyone who uses a telephoto lens can relate to when you're trying to get a shot and literally have to run 20-30 feet back to get what you want in frame lol The human interaction really makes it amazing, because often you don't expect too many people to actually interact with you. They'll see you shooting either move out of the way (awesome people) walk through the shoot, or just kind of look and go on about their day. It's one of the few professions where you can be an introvert, but have those extrovert interactions and be comfortable. Loved seeing this!
@kanarie93

yeah, ppl just holding their walking pace for a few seconds, asking if you got the shot you wanted and then continue their walk is realy nice. Did some portraits with 600mm for fun, and people just walking wide around the line of sight not knowing the 600mm is very low degree of vision so they could literally walk 1m next to the line of me and subject and be out of frame :P

No, no, no! I'm sure your images are great. We're too critical of ourselves. Remember: one person's shit is another person's... actually, it's still shit, admittedly, but if you'd randomly filmed your shit like these guys and uploaded it they'd probably be thinking the same as you. Remember RAPping? (Random Acts of Photography) when digital cameras first came out? You just randomly takes photos as you go about your day and don't even look at what you're capturing (such as when you're riding a bike or on a bus or on holiday or whatever) and then look back through them: you find lots of cool photos becuase you didn't conciously try to take good ones. You're great. Maybe take a photo of your shit and you may be surprised at its abstract beauty (expecially if you have a high fibre diet). Hugs from Australia.

Pierre, I'm watching all your older videos as I'm so late to the Pierre party! Dude you are honestly the most inspirational photographer to me. When I sit down and watch your vids I get so excited like I'm a kid again. I adore how passionate you are and how much you are just in the moment and at one with your surroundings. I'm always smiling whenever I watch, especially when the stars align for you as you're shooting to get those magic shots like at 10:28 I was like YES! YES! YES! Street photography is my greatest love, there is nothing I enjoy more than grabbing my camera and exploring a city through the lens. For me the part I enjoy the most by far is the actual process of capturing images with a camera - playing with composition and light, as well as really appreciating camera equipment and the science behind the process as I shoot. You package that entire feeling I get, into your videos somehow. None of my friends are into photography, so it's nice to see someone sharing their experiences and seeing so many parallels (not including your INSANE talent level!). Your content makes me feel so pumped to grab my camera and get outside! I actually have this Sony 100-400 F4.5-5.6 which I featured on my channel buying it during my quarantine at LHR Airport to stop myself dying of boredom by filming planes! it's a stunning lens but I have never used it for street photography - I will try it now! Pierre: This video was a gift, and I'd like to tell you why. A long time ago, my father gave me a wind-up Canon camera and made sure I knew how to use it. I grew up, and today, I love photography and use it as both a hobby, an escape, and a way to help make a living. Dad didn't know it then, but he was also giving me one of the most valuable tools in my mental health toolkit. When I'm anxious, I reach for the camera. Over the years, photography came and went for me and my dad. He was into it while I wasn't, and vice versa, for some time. My passion was re-ignited about 5 years back, thanks to KZbin videos, just like yours. I showed my dad this very video over thanksgiving weekend, and he's hooked. I'm thrilled. I think I re-ignited his spark, in a way, and your video was the lighter. Your message at the end of this video, about picking up the camera because it's 'good for the soul' brought a tear to my eye. Please keep doing what you do!

In terms of breathing, probably the focal length, but also the fact that it's f5,6 at the long end, compared to most of your other lenses being 2.8 or lower primes, that means much more light for the AF system too :) Also great video as usual, love these 'unusual' lens street photography videos. The fact that they even offered to pay was really respectful of them, and even more cool of you that you declined their offer. Great people, great photographer.

Eu moro no Brasil e queria poder ter essa liberdade de sair nas ruas tirando fotos, mas o medo me consome. Algumas vezes a paixão grita mais forte e coisas épicas são registradas. Obrigado por mostrar sua visão sobre as fotos!
