That was delightful, and an enormous amount of work! I don’t have that space, but still enough to house a good deal of my wardrobe. Problem is, 16 months ago I adopted a furry family member, and her kennel only fit in one side of my closet, so out went the clothes. They are everywhere, every door has taken on the look of an expanded closet. Only now am I able to remove it and put it to its intended use. Hard work ahead, so I congratulate you on making this inspiring and motivational video. Big mahalo.

I had a situation where a rack pulled off the one wall in my walk in closet. After drying my tears, I redid that closet with help from my family. My case was not nearly on the same scale as yours. But it still felt amazing. Congratulations.

Calfornia Closets and Joy did a great job. Oh WOW, Laura, you did a wonderful job with your closet! Everything has a place and it looks so pretty. I did this a few years ago and I like to jus5 sit in there, relax and imagine different outfits coming together. I’m retired, kids are grown with homes of their own and my closet brings me so much joy. I wish you every happiness and joy looking and creating your outfits. It feels like a woman’s dress up play similar to when we were little girls🥰. I bet your pups will like to lay in there and watch you play too🥰

Laura, the closet is fabulous but are those boxes at the very top all of your shoes? I would need mine to be on display so that I could put them together with an outfit. I thought that some of the shelves in the front would be to display your shoes. But if this design works for you, then that's great!🥰

Sweet Laura! You made great choices, and I can tell that your designer, Joy, was a great guide for you when it came to making practical and reasonable bling factor decisions. Those valet slides are awesome and so worth the cost, for outfit planning and convenience. I was a Design Consultant for Closet World here in CA so I know that keeping things reasonable can be a challenge. Your splurges are what make this closet uniquely yours... I love the frosted doors and hardware choices! You will find the jewelry drawer to be a sanity saver! Adding a few more valet rods and another belt slide-out won't hurt, especially now that you know how wonderful they are. Your chaise also looks like a perfect place for packing your suitcase. I am very proud of you for being able to part with 50% of your clothes. I think we just have to get to the point where we realize we aren't going to stop buying, that makes it easier to recycle.

Love the closet and your channel! I did a closet purge last weekend and found that I purged a lot of skirts, specifically pencil skirts, because I am just not reaching for them very often these days. I wondered if you had a similar experience and found yourself purging any certain apparel item more than others and, if so, which item was the most purged for you?

Hi Dawn, Thank you so much!! I did purge more of some items than others. I also purged pencil skirts, and here are a few others - tie dye, skinny jeans (though I kept my faves, they are still in), lots of bags I just don't carry (kept those I truly LOVE), scarves (I had too many).

i am in shock that you purged 50percent, your new closet is beautiful, however, you might need to purge on a regular basis. you tend to keep 10-20 new items each month and this will add up very fast!!

@@rhondaockun3679 hi! I don’t switch or I find I never do it. I purged a lot to get down to what fits in the closet. Sweaters are on the shelves with tees and tanks. I do put the bulky coats in a different closet. Sweats I did put in an armoire in a different room.
