I’ve been watching you for almost 4 years, now. I’ve yet to be affected, in any fashion, by your fire starting method. HAHA Keep doing your thing, Bushkateer! Love the video. The outdoor kitchen is really coming together!

Thanks Marty! Yes, I do not see me changing the way I light my fires, it works so well for me and I get a good fire going every time!

I really liked the way you used the helping hands for the trusses, stay warm
@TheBushkateer28 күн бұрын
Thanks Steve! Yes they really helped out with getting those trusses up on the headers for sure! I would not have been able to get them up by myself otherwise.

The way you make fires doesn’t bother me at all, because you are meticulous about everything you do! I did get a little nervous watching you on the ladder putting up that truss but that’s just me and my fear of heights😆 Good video, and I hope you’ll do an overnight soon!

Thank you Lisa, I appreciate that. I will do an overnight in the New Year!

People don’t like the way you make fires because it’s freaking dangerous! I’m sure you’re aware of the danger of course. Anyway, good video and always enjoy your winter videos.

Oh my goodness! Thats hectic! Well done for coming up with your brilliant "helping hand"! I really thought that this exercise was going to be left for another day 😅 Oh I love your little squirell friend. He's so cute. Very interesting little one man tent you had there. Hey! Sorry about your frozen sandwich! 😂 Take care & be safe.

I’d like to know WHY you choose to start your fires outside of any fireproof container? Thanks in advance!
@TheBushkateerАй бұрын
It is easier to build a little fire on a slab of wood, and then put it in the firebox then building a little fire in the firebox itself. I can light all ends of the fire while outside the stove and get it going good before I put it inside the stove. Being built on a dry slab of wood and having two other pieces of dry wood already placed in the stove makes starting the stove way easier. It is also cleaner, my hands don't get dirty with soot and ash and it is easier to film also. As far as the safety element, the little fire is to small to worry about lighting everything on fire if it were to fall off the slab of wood, it would just go out.

@ Thank you for such a detailed explanation! The first time I saw you do it I actually thought it was genius…but wanted to hear your thoughts. You have so much more control outside of the firebox and can ensure that the fire is going good before placing it. (Just be very careful not to drop it!) Thanks again.
