What about tyres on a car for that type of weather. Nice video.

My personal favorite is Nokian, they have a very soft rubber compound and wont get hard in extreem temperatures. If the road is covered in ice you want studs, if the road is covered in snow it dosen't matter so much - but stud free Nokian tyres does the job really good
