I don’t normally comment but after reading some of these self righteous comments on this video I wanted to thank you Jill for putting up cleaning motivation for the people that appreciate it and come here to watch your content, not come here to compare themselves to you and criticize you to make themselves feel better about themselves. Yes they may “never let their children make messes like that” but I am glad you are teaching your children not to run others down to make themselves feel better like the example some of these people are setting for their children in the comments by criticizing you. I know you are going through a lot right now. Most of us appreciate that you are still taking the time to give us great cleaning content since that is what most of us watch cleaning channels for after all who wants to watch someone clean an already clean house? Keeping you and your family in my prayers ❤

Man some ppl & their comments are so rude & no help. I love how it turned out! Especially w/a lot of company things may not stay perfect but what matters is you maintain what you can & it's so sweet your neice was awesome at helping!! Great job & kudos for having that energy!! I need to get to that level 😊 also a thought while reading these--idk if u do this already, & I'm sure the girls already practice their chores, but when you do start seeing clothes and blankets pile up perhaps ask them to come in or gentle remind of 'where does this belong' or 'where do we put it when we're done?' & have a stand up hamper in the corner? I find having an easy home nearby they can put it in & those gradual reminders can be helpful at forming habits (rather than some ppl here suggesting to just stand & yell until it's gone). Without an easy home to put it in & practice, it can easily start to pile up in a small space & be overwhelming. Or even a 10 minute power timer of 'I spy' to see who can find the most small things to put away so it's more fun & saves on the back from picking things up 😆 Again GREAT JOB!! Thank you for sharing esp. given how busy things are!!

I like Jill's videos but I thought this was very overwhelming how could you have the children even sleeping in the room there wasn't one spot to even walk on not even in back of the bed under the bed all kinds of c*** I think the children if they can't straighten out after they play that they shouldn't have all those things in the room to each their own Everybody has an opinion and then again if she didn't have a room a mess what video was she going to make who wants to see someone cleaning and already clean room but of course the room was more than cluttered it was a pig's die how do the children sleep at night with that mess

@Josette Lisella understood, we all have our opinions. I hear the part about overwhelm, but given how many ppl & the nature for why there's so many ppl in a small space rn I think it's always good to give kindness & grace. If ppl are feeling low or just overwhelmed it can spiral out, so I think it's great for her to say enough and continue to try to make change and have help when you need. I know my mom would not have this, but I also know we have different struggles and are at different parts of our journey. I think that's why ideas or critique are appropriate because straight criticism can be defeating. I can see some frustration can also come from a place of care to succeed or concern to try to prevent it from getting to this point again in the future, otherwise it's tiring to change the results over and over and not the cause of these occurring. Especially during this time I feel we can all benefit from rooting for each others progress and success regardless of our feelings for how we would have it. Easier said than done sometimes lol

I get so overwhelmed with my childrens things, and things that family members have left behind. I just wish I had help to declutter things that are too much work to sort out by myself. The clutter has made my anxiety and sometimes depression get the best of me. I don't want my kids to think it's ok to live in a mess of clutter or just things everywhere. My mom was a hoarder and I don't want myself or family to fall into that hole of comfort of haording things forever. Seems like I have things here from 20yrs ago. It's just so difficult to sort items that don't belong to me yet the owners won't come help sort or remove it .. what advice can you give me. I'm loosing myself in this mess. 😕
@jkp62 Жыл бұрын
My heart goes out to you! First, I would suggest getting rid of other peoples items they left with you- our adult children left so much when they bounced back home a few times and treated our house and garage as an unpaid storage unit. We sent them an email saying that if they don’t come and get their stuff it would be brought to the landfill by a certain date (we emailed them on May 1st, gave them until June 30th and loaded a trailer and bed of our truck 3 times on August 1st) best $75 we spent as doing this cleared up 3/4 of our huge 2 car garage and shop. Once you do this, and you have to leave the guilt and emotion out of it, then empty a drawer and clean it out and throw away what you decluttered. Basically, it’s like eating an elephant, one bite at a time. Focus on ONE are in ONE room and keep at it each day for 30 minutes a day until that room is done. The thing I had to do is be ruthless with myself, there we things in boxes for 11+ years I never went through, so I made sure their were no photos or valuables and trashed the rest, I went from having no room in drawers and closets to having a few empty closets and drawers in each room- it took over a year but it happened. Also, once you get rid of other peoples things, keep your kitchen sink and counters clean, don’t decluttered anything in there just maintain dishes daily, it kind of gave me a mental boost to tackle one trouble spot. Pick the area that has tears flowing the most and focus on just that area until it’s done, like I said, it took me a year to decluttered and about 10 years later I had to do it again but it didn’t take nearly as long like 4-6 months and that was because I emptied the entire room, painted and put new flooring in and as I was bringing things back in, I determined if it really needed to go back into the room or even stay in the house, each room got the same attention from spring to late fall. One bite at a time.
