EXTREME FLASH FLOOD intercept by Dominator Drone in southern Utah! One-two punch

Flash flood intercept in Wahweap Creek, Utah by Dominator Drone with multiple rounds / waves of flooding, with the initial front wall relatively small compared to the second wave. The second wave came from Coyote Creek. Thank you @rankinstudio aka the Flash Flood Guru for expert guidance

I have spent a lot of time hiking and backpacking in Utah's canyons, and the Colorado Plateau is my favorite place on earth to be. I've always wanted to watch (from well above) one of the big drainages with narrows sections like White Canyon or Buckskin flash. White Canyon near the Black Box section has/had a huge driftwood log wedged like 20-25' above the ground when I hiked it back in 2012, I think. These videos are so amazing and mesmerizing - thanks for posting them. Also, that cloud featured right in the beginning of the video is completely off the rails amazing!!

Ten or so years ago I knew nothing about camera drones. I liked to watch David Rankin’s flash flood videos. I did not know that David had a drone when he appeared to be standing in the path of a heavy, fast-moving debris flow. And he made no effort to get out of the way… You can guess what went through my mind.

When flash floods happen in Southern Utah it's dangerous. I remember watching a program and a family's house got swept away in that part of the state.

SEE AMERICA....... Not all the bad weather happens in the midwest. Ya need to come out west more often Reed. I was in Mexico when you were in Arizona. Man did AZ get hit hard!! ALOT of standing water in the desert south of Phoenix near Pichaco Peak a section of rail was washed out stopping rail traffic for miles in both dirrections. Very impressive rain totals. FLASH FLOODS ARE SERIOUS BUSINESS!!! Avoid these at all cost! Several deaths in Arizona in the last few days and many "Close Calls". We can sure use alot more rain. Drive safe!
