Such an incredible truck and what a perfect build for this Arctic Adventure we are on!
@TACTICALNOMAD6 ай бұрын
@TrailRecon, Brad, you had the perfect truck when you had your RAM for long distance and an Arctic Expedition trip. IDK why you would have gotten rid of it?! Jeeps are so small, uncomfortable and cramped, especially for long distance driving/off-roading.

How’s that emissions crap doing. I have a 24 model 6.7 Cummins and it hates low speed driving you’ll clog up that DPF filter in 300 miles. I’m hoping you deleted all that or you’re gonna have major issues

Those of us who have opted for big rigs over Jeeps and Toyota's finally get to see the vehicles we own and love doing the things you've done so well capturing on camera. Diesel is the final answer dude…Go ahead man! Hello from Italy 👊🏼
@derekheuring29846 ай бұрын
Well, maybe. Long distance driving with long gaps between service stations then yes, you want a diesel. If you want the utmost in off-road capability in a full-size truck then Power Wagon is the way to go and they only offer the gasser for very good reasons: less weight over the front suspension. Power Wagon's go where no rebel has gone before.

Funny you should post this Video ….. just yesterday myself and some friends got my new Bed mounted rack & OVS systems Nomadic tent and 270 degree awning installed on my ‘02 GMC Sierra Duramax powered rig . I’m up on 8” lift & 37’s ever since I bought the truck almost 22 years ago now . Believe it or not it’s only got a little over 142,000 miles ,as I drove my Chevy 2500 eleven foot bed Dually service truck for my main business and used the GMC only for weekends with various trips out camping towing trailers / boat or Bikes in bed. About 10 months ago I got serious about retirement and at 64 now am FINALLY pursuing my dream of an Overlanding rig . I figured “ what the Hell , I already own a solid platform “ that’s been hands down one of the best trucks I’ve EVER owned , and build from there .Really looking forward to seeing where you go with this trip you & Brad and the few others will travel . My bucket list of my own places is growing ….. 😏. Way cool build you did by the way 😎👍

Ahhh this is such a cool build - and such a timely video for me. I've got a Gladiator now and have sort of been in the debate on building it out to be a travel machine. But... we just had our third kiddo and simultaneously I'm realizing I'm more interested in the bigger/longer trips than just going for day-crawls on the mountains just west of Calgary. I haven't found an overland family of 5 making it work in a Gladiator, and I'm thinking mine may not enjoy it so much so I've started to look at the Power Wagon for an HD build and this video sure shows what the options and benefits are of that extra space so thanks for putting in the effort. (And that the range of the diesel will be worth keeping an eye out since I'll be buying pre-owned) Now that you've got some time with it - would you say the additional space/comfort is worth the trade-off of capability/size with the perspective of camping/overlanding with the whole family?

I remember the video where you were so excited about having a rig to haul the Jeep to various locations, long away from home. That being said, wouldn't that have served roughly the same purpose of long distance "efficiency" while maintaining a moderately or more capable off road rig? Not to mention, having something to haul your Jeep with in the event of mechanical failure, which has happened and will always happen in off road use, which is the nature of the lifestyle. So, what are the pros and cons of building the Ram and using it this way as opposed to hauling the Jeep for these longer distances? None the less, as a fan of full size trucks (I own a Cummins, myself) It is a sweet build.
