That green paint and the over glaze was called “antiquing”. A very popular finish for DIYers in the late 1960’s and early 70’s.

Tip from woodworkers here: You can use up to 600 grit after applying the sealing coats. You don’t want to sand the wood past 220 for staining or applying laquer/polyurethane. The wood grain should be sanded to 180. Once applying your finishing medium then you use the higher grit to polish it out. Hope this helps you!

This is really pretty..alotbetter than that green monstracity! As far as using it to seal paint, maybe ask Angirfrom Transcend Furniture Gallery. She uses a lot of Odie’s Oil products. Also, how long does it take for the chrome and other metallic markers to dry?
