If you want the cornbread flavor, just add water to the mix slowly to not over water (I use JIFFY) and make pancakes (my Granny called them Johnny cakes). Make them very small because they can be crumbly . I make them and serve them with butter and syrup. Also serve with ham and beans.

If you add Worcestershire to the ground turkey, it makes a world of difference in taste

I have found that red pepper flakes take the gamey taste out of ground turkey. A pinch makes a world of difference.

I use those $1.99 ground pork sausage rolls in so many recipes. We always have them on hand. I mix them w our ground beef for meat balls, meat loafs, i use them for any asian dish, i used them in Egg Roll in a Bowl (cheap, easy & so good skillet meal), I've even used them for sloppy joes when I ran out of our ground beef before we ordered more. Eveeyone loved it. You can substitute it or use one roll of the sausage w 1 lb of ground beef to make any recipe taste better and its cheaper, so thats a win 😊

I use ground turkey 95% of the time because I got really skeeved out by the many chunks of gristle/bone I was finding in the ground beef all the time. As soon I feel that mystery bit in my mouth in beef, I'm done. Turkey has saved me from that headache.

FYI 1/3c of uncooked lentils w/2/3c dry brown rice and 2c water, 2T fat of choice (meat drippings or schmaltz is nice, butter will work) and 1tsp salt will make enough for 2 adult servings for a meal. The lentils & rice in those ratios make a complete protein but remember ur iron is still surely lacking. Adding a little meat to this for flavor is nice. Cut ur fat (above) in half if ur meat is a nice fatty meat.

Also, on chili, you can eat it on anything -- rice, spaghetti, baked potatoes, french fries, etc. Try chili on top of a few crushed corn chips with cheese on top for a Frito chili pie.

I know it doesn’t work for a lot of people, but I save a ton of money being plant based. Using beans, lentils, oats, in season produce, rice, pasta, and potatoes. If you like tofu its a great protein source or textured vegetable protein , but I prefer making seitan. There’s also so much protein in the beans, and lentils, and the pasta usually has some protein. If you have a little extra you can get the high protein pasta. We just made a Finnish favorite and made french fries topped with basically the stuff you would have on a burger. Traditionally they out chunks of sausage on there too, but I’m not paying that price for the vegan ones and It still tasted great.

I just found your channel and I’m so happy to finally find a channel that not only on a budget but eats healthy. We eat non-GMO and organic whenever possible on a budget which is challenging. We also don’t eat pork which makes it even more challenging. So thank you I’m really loving your channel so far, only on video two.

I have the same trouble with measuring cups. I thought I was crazy. I've never seen anyone else have any problems with them. One would think that since they're made for pouring liquid, they wouldn't spill like that. 🤷 This is my first time watching your channel. These recipes look great. Thanks. I'll definitely be watching more and subscribing. Thanks for the ideas.

The amount of gmo in seasoning blends in a whole recipe would be very tiny. I sometimes think pesticides or some meats are more “dangerous” than anything as small as some spices. My opinion.

I use ground turkey always. My dad is allergic to MSG and ALL the ground beef we have used has MSG in it, so I went to all ground turkey and we have been totally happy with it. Bonus: ground Turkey is cheaper too...

Great job! Here’s a thing about ground beef and ground turkey, if you don’t care for the ground, turkey taste get beef bullion, or if you already have it at home throw it in with your ground turkey it helps flavor than me and make it taste just like ground beef! I learned this from my eldest daughter when she was here visiting last time and it’s been a game changer and allows me to grab buy ground turkey at a cheaper cost use the before Jan, run over to the international aisle and you can get a huge big 32 ounce or I think it’s 2 pounds basically of beef bullion for six dollars! It’s insane how cheap the prices in the international out, which is usually right behind the soup aisle that has bullion in there that’s a lot more expensive, definitely run over to the international aisle and grab your beef bullion and get the big jars for six bucks, I do this also with chicken bouillon and tomato chicken bullion as well. They’re all six dollars apiece.😊
