THANKS ! This is the BEST video of the TABS heating and cooling systems out there ! NuCamp should make you a brand spokesman . I've been looking hard at this trailer and wondered how the AC would handle the brutal humidity we get here in the midwest and after seeing how it handled the scorching heat in Arizona its pretty amazing. LOL.... I feel a little guilty about asking for this video and and it blowing up your GFCI outlet. Next time you're camping in Chicago I'll hook you up with some beers ! 🍺🍻👍

Haha no problem, it's fun to do. Don't feel bad, the electrician showed up today, it was actually a bad breaker that needed replacing anyway. I have heard some say the AC may freeze up in high humidity conditions, but a de humidifier inside may help that out, we only had 22% humidity that day. I'm sure if everything is right, the ac would be just fine where you are, it's a very small space to cool down, haha. Much appreciated bud, thanks for watching. 🍻👍👍

Great video!! I am buying a new 320 & will start full timing this fall. At 70 years old I am excited. Keep these coming as I have learned so much from you already. Thanks so much!!!
@DSWadventures7 ай бұрын
That's very cool. If you are full timing, keep an eye out for that new 360, it may give you a little more room, just do plenty of walk throughs before you make your final decision. Thanks for watching, I'll do my best to post some more tab adventures. 👍

Great video. Researching Tab trailers and this video was by far the best at describing how the cooking and heating systems work. Nice job!

I'll confirm we've run the Air8 in a 2021 TAB320 off a 15a circuit without tripping it, old GFCI's will die like that sometimes.
@DSWadventures3 ай бұрын
Yep, so cool. I did figure out why I tripped the breaker / gfi. I can normally use the trailer air on the house 110. But.. since it was summer, I forgot we had a swamp cooler in a screen room running sucking power on the same circuit.

Very helpful! Considering a tab for my retired life. :). Love how analytical you are .
@DSWadventures7 ай бұрын
Thanks. They are very neat little trailers, just do a few walk throughs of different models to see if they fit your needs.

@@DSWadventures good idea and will do :) I’m in phx, do u have a preferred dealer when that time comes ?
@DSWadventures7 ай бұрын
@marksalani2600 I actually purchased mine at Toms Blue Compass in Mesa. Just search for nucamp dealers close to you, for fun walk as many lots as you need, check out all different manufacturers. keep an eye on prices on rv trader, sometimes you can catch a deal, if you are buying new. If the 320 is too small, they are coming out with a tab 360, and of course, the big 400 is really nice. Right now, there are plenty of people selling used tabs, though.

@@DSWadventures thx! I was watching and prob would be more interested in a 360. BUT, I also have to be mindful that I have a wrangler to tow it. 3000 lbs rated. I do have the v6, so I think it would pull the 360 ok. I’m like a year out anyways, so I’ll keep an eye out. There was a dealer , can’t remember which one, but was here in town. They had a new 23. (320) for like 15k off! The colors were the issue I think. Grey and red. Which I really liked as the jeep is maroon, lol. Have plenty of time. Appreciate your guidance

Yeah, id definitely stay around the 2000lb trailer range for the wrangler then. keep searching, you never know when a great deal will pop up sooner than later. 👍

4 and 1/2 hours seems way too long to wait to reduce the temperature. Just running my van air conditioner that's built into the van cools it off faster than that.
@DSWadventures4 ай бұрын
In 90°weather it only takes about 30 minutes. In this video the trailer was heat soaked at 116° in direct sun light all day. My truck ac will usually take 30 minutes itself to start cooling down. It brutal out here in summer. The ac system in this trailer works pretty similar to a vehicle, it really moves some air.

A while back when I took my trailer in to Nucamp I had put an external solar plug on so I could plug in an external solar panel. They hooked it to the battery. But I never put in a new controller. So now I’m thinking I’ll have to have one between the solar panel and plugging it into that new plug. What is your take. I get into learning about adding solar equipment but then just after a short time it’s like I have to start over. LOL. I’ve had this plug for a while but just have not used it.
@DSWadventures6 ай бұрын
Very cool. So you will either need a solar panel with an mppt charge controller attached, or you can add one between the battery and the new port they installed along with a fuse to the battery. I recommend the victron 75/15 mppt for 12v if you add one, very good stuff.

Wow what a great AC unit. Does the tab400 have the same system?
@DSWadventures7 ай бұрын
It worked very well. I'm not sure on the tab400, I don't think it's the same unit.

Did you buy your Tab new or used? If used - did you hire independent RV inspector to check it out?
@DSWadventures7 ай бұрын
At the time I couldn't find any of the Tabs used, so I had to buy new.
