Jeff, I wish I could find someone like you to help me physically deal with the things I need to clear out if my home. It is embarrassing to ask friends or family plus my brother just throws anything and everything away. I'm disorganized and I do need to check through things, but I can and do throw things away and give to charity. It is more the health conditions I have that limit it and make it so overwhelming. My ex was not very helpful. As a matter of fact, he left some of his stuff behind for me to deal with and he was able bodied. It makes me feel so sad.

Thank you for sharing. When I thought I had clutter, I was wrong. Yes the bones of that house look sound, and cleaned up, could be quite attractive.

I noticed as you say that things were clean. Especially not a lot of rotten food as is often the case.

It seems to me that it would actually take more work to keep all of the stuff (especially when you consider hauling it upstairs) than to throw it away.

Incredible how people live like that - After seeing that, my kids bedrooms look comparatively spotless! I'd be quite interested to see how it looks when all the rubbish is removed - probably a nice house in there somewhere.

yep. This house is missing all the friendly and not so friendly friends. Cockroaches, flies, rats, mice, an over load of animals and their “stuff”. I have see some places that have used diapers . (Nappies) everywhere because the hoard cannot get into their toilet area, not that running water is working anyway. I feel sad for people with this type of mental illness, because the behavior usually returns without constant therapy

Mr. Avery, are most of your jobs generated after people pass away?
@jeffreyronaldavery10 жыл бұрын
Hey you can call me Jeff - yes the majority of my jobs are when the occupier has passed away, however i am increasingly working with clients that are alive and living in hoarded conditions so we now offer support along with a cleaning and clearance service. We also carry our abnormally large house clearances that are not cases of hoarding, so check out the last 4 videos that show before and after shots of a quite a large house clearance on a farmhouse in Kent South East England. Enjoy it and let me know what you think or if you have any questions, regards Jeff Avery

jeffrey avery someone one day will have fun clearing my stuff, I am extremely tidy and organised, stuff's all on shelves or in boxes, but I collect, 2,000 cat figurines, vintage clothes, vintage china, books, papers, magazine and news paper articles, cards, art material and fabric. Old toys you name it it's here and my partners' retro gaming stuff, no one to pass anything on to when we die but some poor bugger's going to have to shift it. Seriosuly though I have slung out boxes and broken stuff, recycled all the jars, wine bottles and plastic tubs and given a load of stuff to chazz shops.

Jeff do you enjoy this job or is it because it pays well? If you do it cause you enjoy it then you are amazing! I would never be able to do somthing like this! When I was little i kept a lot of toys so my mom started calling me a hoarder! I watched this then realized I wasn't xD

it don't matter to me the mental condition ;they're just dirty...they mess up the house to a point were you just gotta burn it down...imagine being the neighbor of these people...pretty hard selling your house if you think of getting away from the thilth
@jeffreyronaldavery10 жыл бұрын
Hi Nestor, i do understand how you may feel or how you might feel if you were a neighbour. I have met neighbours on numerous occasions when carrying out clearance of a hoarded property, and they are sometimes distressed at having to live next to a property like we are describing. But most times the occupier has or is suffering some form f anxiety or depression or some mental disturbance that makes then act in this way and hoard tings. Its my job to help and to understand their problem then get them back on the right path, please try to understand that they cant help themselves so we have to assist them and their families as much as we can, take care, Jeff
