What a stunning makeover. This home is absolutely breathtaking. I saw some people in chat say that this was just too much money. Yes, it is too much money for most of us. However; the ideas that were shared can be used on so many levels. Just because we cannot shop at high end stores does not mean that we cannot find similar items at other places, to even include second hand stores. This is such an encouragement to make our own homes as beautiful as we can. Thank you for sharing.

Of course Rob... I get it, as aspirational as this video is... Its not really relatable ... UNLESS you pay attention to the design principals we discuss here. Even in a 2,000 sq. ft. house, a coat of paint, replacing outdated faucets, creating symmetry and adding window treatment panels still apply and can make a huge difference. As for videos that are more aligned with your current stage in life, I have nearly 500 videos here on KZbin ranging from a 300 sq. ft. apartment to a 10,000 sq. ft. home and everything in between. Some are high-end luxury homes and some are DIY budget minded makeovers. Hi Rebecca, Maria did a beautiful job on this house and while it’s way out of most of our budgets, it’s fun to see how the other half lives. Having said that, regardless that’s it’s high end we can still garner useful tips along the way. I think Rebecca let Maria express herself and held back from her usual impulsiveness and asked questions to allow Maria to shine when it was appropriate. I’ve watched this video so many times b/c I just love all the rooms…looks like my home in TX except mine is much smaller. But these ideas are scalable and one day I may copy cat this remodel. I mention that to say that I have come to admire the way the ladies interacted and Rebecca led Maria into a nice dissection of their craft. Rebecca is clearly more comfortable in front of cameras but Maria held her own. They were running out of time so Rebecca started prompting a bit more and sort of taking over…but it was fine. Maria’s craft was displayed beautifully and the showcase definitely was a great intro to a new designer for us and for Maria, she gets to do what she does best without fussing over a camera crew or KZbin channel. This vid was a win win…and they were both just lovely.

It already has. Designer has made a wonderful investment but dated home w cheap furniture and overall home lacks true elegance. Movie star posters as art?! Do love the doors to patio. Hosts own home is much better so not a reflection on her. On the other hand there must be a market for this tacky decor. Touché to flippers skill at making money. Thanks for video on what not to do. Did look at other videos and many are great.

Beautiful home! Omg!!! Loved the before and after pictures. She did a great job especially in the kitchen and the patio/backyard. Changing the angles in the family room was smart move too. I am too practical to rip out perfectly good things. I hope all the stuff taken out didn't end up in the landfill. I liked the before better because modern/contemporary just feels cold to me. There were some flaws but not a $1 million renovation. It is a beautiful house. Just not my style.

QUESTION #2 - It seems like the latest trend is bright white and various shades of gray, but what should I do, if I feel more at home in warm colors? You mentioned that many white paints have a yellow tint, but that’s what I like - I prefer yellowish white, like cream color. I actually don’t like gray nor bright white, even though they’re in style. Are there any warmer colors that are in style now?

I don't live in a house like this yet, but that doesn't make me criticize Rebecca. I watch because there is a lot I can learn from, it puts me in a great mood, it inspires me to work hard towards owning my dream house, I am taking notes, planning and working towards the goal. It doesn't make me feel poor. It inspires me, may take 5 years may take 20 years. But I appreciate everything she shares with us. Seeing things through the eyes of a designer. You don't need to have the same goal or dream or taste. You can choose to remain where you are and choose a simple house to live in. You attract what you put out. The house is beautiful, however; the eggshell white curtains against white walls will never work for me. White on white will never correctly demonstrate the true potential of that room. I did LOVE her floors throughout the house. No shade intended but I found the house a bit bland due her obsession with egg shell white. There was definitely a desperate need for color throughout that house. But that TUB made me PAUSE for a moment of silence and allow the angels in heaven to SING for me real quick. LOL Overall if as a seller she did what was necessary to properly stage the house with enough character to not overwhelm the buyers, allowing them to let their imagination come alive as they begin to personalize their new space! Over all I enjoyed the collaboration. GOOD JOB!

Although there were many individual features that were very beautiful, this home for some reason fell flat for me. It was so neutral and monochromatic, that it gave me the same feeling as watching an old black and white TV show.

I hate when people feel the need to finish your sentences or can't wait one nanosecond while your brain calibrates to provide an accurate answer. These shows help me with my interior design fascination, but the constant interruptions cause me anxiety, which beats the purpose of watching these shows as therapy.
