I will teach you to eat with your hands the Indonesian way. When taking the rice, press it with your five fingers so that the rice clenches. When about to put it in your mouth, point your four fingers to your mouth, then push the rice with your thumb into your mouth.

I'll give a tips to eat using hand like local,,Pick the rice and stuff like you do in this video earlier put it in your four finger, and than use your thumb to push them all to your mouth No need spoon and fork or knife anymore after that😅😂

I have travelled to Australia, if we compare with Sydney and Melbourne, the food prices in all Cities in Indonesia are cheaper 3-4 times. But the craziest price is cigarette, AUD 20 (Rp 200.000) for Marlboro

Actually activated charcoal is not what u had in that drink. I have never seen anyone get a piece of charcoal from the fire and put it in your drink. That's a bit crazy lol

fun fact about gudeg, this food we called yesterday food..because this food is better eaten tommorow after cooking, so every morning our grand mother always heating and heating this food add more coconut milk everyday untill finish..usually we add goat meet or beef bone or chicken bone..oh my good i miss my grandmother's gudeg..by the way, next week we do fasting for a month..i believe alot of food shop will be closed in the afternoon..may be you can move to bali for a while..because most of them dont do fasting prayer

when you go to borobudur/prambanan, try to find other local with you just for buy ticket (pretend to be local turist), cos the price will go alot more cheap as local. for foreigner ticket its about 10x higher then local ticket :D. luckyly you dont look so bule hahaha...

Another tip: if u want to eat with your hand you should useyour four fingers to scoop up the food (your form is correct david) but you should use your thumb to push the food inside your mouth. if you didn't use your thumb it would be like in this video where u tilt ur head and drop the food or maybe you only use 3 fingers and shoved it down your mouth haha (def the wrong technique to eat with hands like that and it will waste a lot of times).

Hi David, I always enjoying your vlogs. However many foreigners are mislead that all Indonesians food are to be eaten with hands. Actually it depends of the type of food, in this gudeg usually we eat with spoon (and fork) because the texture is a bit wet and mushy. Do not hesitate ask for utensils, many Indonesians prefer eat with spoon and fork to eat, not mandatory using bare hands.. fyi. Enjoy your trip and keep the good vids coming!

NOOOO NOT BAKPIA TUGU, BAKPIA TUGU IS NOT BAKPIA 😭 Bakpia is baked, not steamed. Dry, crispy, and thick outside, but soft inside. Filled by mungbean, green bean, etc. Bakpia tugu is just a steamed bun branded as "bakpia". Thankfully you bought an original version of bakpia then.
