I have two places in our home that need decluttering, removal of boxes,(mostly empty ones) and some dead appliances. The garage and living/dining area. I have tackled a few drawers in the kitchen. Then, a few days before Christmas I removed our bins for baking from the cabinets. I made a big mess while I threw out a few expired items, and put the cupcake stuff into a large dish tub. Then had to put it into the pantry. Now all our cookie and cake mix boxes are lined up on one shelf in cupboard. It is a beautiful thing to see. We are so blessed. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Cass.

Amazing transformation Cass, and so brave of her to open her closed doors for all to see! All this organizing made me think of how I wish designers would build more "batwing" pantries into homes. They're really the most usable and efficient way to store things and there's no wasted space between the shelves and the door as in traditional closet-type pantries. Everything is easy to get to and the shelves are shallow so nothing gets shoved behind anything else. They need to throw out the old ways and make things better for all of us! 😀

I was the same. Between papers and books, I was drowning in the stuff. I did an extreme declutter, getting rid entirely of papers that were only there because I might want to look at these again someday. Then I decided, of the important papers, which ones actually needed to be kept as paper and which could be scanned and then tossed/shredded. my three big filing cabinets are now one small fireproof filing box. And it has room to spare. As for books, went with digital for most of the keepers, too. Your mileage may vary. We did an extreme downsizing because we went from about 3000 square feet to about 600 square feet, and moved more than 1000 miles away. Our little apartment is calm, organized, and has plenty of breathing room in all the closets and cupboards. I'm so glad we downsized this much.

My garage is my nemesis. But I can tell you after working on it many times, every time it gets out of control I dread it and say oh geez I don't want to conquer the garage and the most it has ever taken me was 3 hours. After the first big declutter, getting it "reset" usually takes me 1-2 hours even after say a big camping trip or Christmas. Maybe just tell yourself you'll do one hour only and start in one corner. You've got this!

Or another suggestion, just start zoning first time out (stuff things in different areas based on category) then declutter/sort/organize one category a weekend or something. Wow! what a transformation! as a ladybug I totally relate, my biggest issue at the moment is the kitchen (used to be the craft room which I got rid of 90% of stuff) same issues as the lady in the video, to much food that gets lost in the abyss, where it goes to die and never be seen again but I am working on it, we built a new pantry that fits everything (food, appliances, etc) I just need to get it all organized, when we finished building we had stuff everywhere so it got shoved in to get it out of the way .. so its functional, I just cant find anything atm LOL!

We downsized after clearing out our 3,000 square-foot house, and my parents' 1,500 square-foot house -- and then moved into the smaller one. OY. Still trying to wrap our heads around organizing a MUCH smaller kitchen, only ONE bathroom, and an unfinished basement and semi-finished attic space. My spot right now? Three. Attic, Basement (major basement, because I can avoid it easiest!), and the utility room closet (which I hesitate to organize because we're going to remodel that room - eventually). Right now when company is coming, I stuff everything in there. And yes, I"m a straight-up Ladybug, too! You are an inspiration!

Wow! great job. I could use you here. My bedroom walk in closet, and my laundry/junk room are my biggest problems. Small place makes it hard.

Transformation is great! I’ll be moving in October, and I’ve been living in my current apartment for five years, and I have paper clutter in every corner of my bedroom 😩

Yes, get rid of it now! As someone that has moved 6 times since 2015, you definitely don't want to move, and unpack, clutter!

Great job on the organization. Knowing what you have can save on the grocery bill. Use what have to plan meals.

I have a dump room from when we moved in 6 yrs ago and didn't know where to put extra boxes. Now it's waist high full of junk. My husband's disaster is the garage.

I love the wooden stackable bin for the cans that was placed in the pantry. Any idea where I could purchase one like it? Loved learning about the clutter bugs by the way, I even classified my husband 😁

Sure, they're from The Container Store: www.containerstore.com/s/stackable-bamboo-storage-bins/d?q=stackable%20wooden%20bin%20&productId=11012163

@@Clutterbug Is there a place to get these in Canada? Shipping costs more than the product. 😥😥
