lots of dream theater fans STILL dont understand just how insane mike mangini really is.
@krioni86sa11 ай бұрын
he is really insane. up to a point. he is great in this era up to the early 2000s. even at the audition. but in dt, mike is bad as a sidesman. he is like being controlled and not himself. maybe it was the pressure or what. im a super fan of him before and have an autograph of him. but portnoy is dt. he belongs in dt and mike is just an outcast and i feel like dt is holding him back.

@@krioni86sa I honestly feel DT won’t ever return to the level of rhythmic complexity obtained with Mangini. AVFTTOTW being a primary example of how complex Manginis mind is working to the rest of the band.

UFB, what a great solo. well thought out from beginning to end. Can't wait to see what he does the the DT material. I hope the songs themselves don't suck. Ambidexterity that he displays is like a what they teach piano players, which most just use their right hand for the hard stuff. Unreal. Buddy Rich would freak-out on his one handed drum rolls. I think MM will include the emotional aspect of the song and not just flash. As DT said he played the songs as they were done, not his spin on it,yet!
