Why don't they screw on a Net right underneath those narrow Wooden Planks. It will catch nearly everything that falls between the cracks. Add a strong plastic Zipper circa every 6 to 10 feet, so that the fallen items can be retrieved every now and then. Another idea would be a Pull-out Drawer with a non corrosive Net on the Bottom, Which the Business owner could pull out towards the canal to retrieve the lost items.

Hi, Leigh. Good to see Hannie again (congrats on losing 22kgs, Hannie 👏). I think another search under the table is warranted, but this time with proper gear.. flippers, detectors as well as pinpointers, etc. A fairly decent haul of cutlery items plus Jordy Gewell's old name badge but there's still more treasure under the restaurant. Leigh, I'm hoping someday you'll do an adventure in front of 'The House with the Heads' (known as 'Huis met de Hoofden' in Dutch) on Keizersgracht canal. The house was the home of one of my ancestors: Dutch entrepreneur & industrialist Louis de Geer who bought the house in 1634. Louis would, in today's terms, have been a multi-billionaire - unfortunately the wealth didn't trickle down to my generation. The family lived in the house for four generations. It would be cool if you and your friends find treasures from that time period.

The house is a heritage site and is listed on the Top 100 Dutch heritage sites. Nowadays the building is home to the Embassy of the Free Mind, a museum and platform for culture, music, art, science & spirituality. There is a legend that the heads refer to six thieves who had tried to break in the house and were then beheaded by a maid. More likely, the ornaments are said to be images of six Roman gods: Apollo with the laurel wreath (the arts); Ceres with the grain (agriculture); Mercury with the winged helmet (trade); Minerva (wisdom); Bacchus with the grapes (wine); and Diana with the half moon (hunt). My Garrett at/Pro could have picked the ring out of all the trash with a nice tone. Made 4 trips to Amsterdam before starting metal detecting in December-2007 and had 1 visit planned for metal detecting but had to cancel due to abscessed tooth. If I couldn't live in the USA, Amsterdam would be my adopted home.

Hanny and Leigh, it's too bad you don't have a "water vacuum" like what they use in the Bering Sea to find gold. They suck it one end, and the "dirt and items" get put onto a conveyor belt thing to be brought to the surface. Then, only one person with tanks would have to be under the decks to clean the floor of the river. Can you image all the treasure you could find with that instead of just using magnets?
