Thanks man! Yes, it became nice. A shot from the hip but the colour combination worked better than expected. That´s what you get when only using parts you have laying around. It was a fun project!

Matty...oh my! You went deep on this. All that routing free hand - no fence, no template. Very impressive! Brave move installing the upper horn toggle switch. I would have woosed out by enlarging the existing control cavity and used a Tele plate on top. But good for you - no guts, no glory! The fingerboard looks great. Beautiful makeover.

I thought, what the heck, even if i wouldn´t have succeded it would make a interesting video. I´m not doing it because it´s easy, I´m doing it because it´s fun. Some people (not you) have a hard time understanding that :)

When using stripper, wrap the body with plastic wrap after. It keeps the stripper from drying out.

Wow that turned out awesome, I’ve always wanted to try to replace some plain dot inlays with stars but maybe I better start with just the generic square import LP lawsuit blocks for a first time at least. I got an old Ibanez Destroyer II that really needs a re fret , I’ve already got the correct radius block so maybe I’ll have a go at changing the inlays if I work up the nerve to do my first refret on it. I tried a level and crown but they are too low to achieve the desired results. I’m impressed how clean you countersunk that toggle switch back plate with chisels, great work I don’t have steady enough hands or the patience but it’s pretty incredible the things you can do modifying guitars with fairly common simple tools most people have around their house or garage. Sometimes I think I like modifying cheap guitars as much as I do playing em

You should go for it! A stratovarius was built without any power tools so you can achieve great results with ordinary hand tools. Modern tools just make it easier. I’m fifty-fifty, I like tinkering as much as playing, that’s why luthiering is so damn fun!

It looks nice, very different! I love to play rhythm on a P90 and then switch to a humbucker for a solo.

Awesome! I got that same guitar, but in a purplish color, for $10 at a yard sale. Restrung it & the bridge bolts snapped right off! lol Took it to my luthier & he put in new bolts, we put in a Duncan designed Detonator pickup & a set of Grovers we had laying around & it ended up playing & sounding awesome! I’m thinking of doing to mine what you did to yours! You should have put your own logo on it! Isn’t it funny they put the Gibson open book headstock on these cheap guitars, & charge top dollar for the new Epiphones with that headstock? Rock on!

Yeah go for it! These cheap guitars are great for moding and you don´t have to wory if you mess up :)
