its so fun watching something be transformed and given new life. ever since I've seen a video where an item connected to golden Hollywood history was given new life. A dinning set owned by a 1930's actress was saved and restored, I've been hooked on videos that give antique and vintage furniture and items second chances and this video was a treat.

Aaww thanks! My only regret was not saving the casters, apparently some people like restoring those.

Really like your creativity and i like both carts equally. A few suggestions to help you out. Switch to using 0000 steel wool between each paint coat and poly coat and don't apply much pressure. All it's for is to remove nibs and dust that has settled on the coat prior to drying. No need to paint the tops of the tray if you're going to glue on it. The bond is better gluing raw wood to raw wood. That paint coat could cause a failure with the glue layer down the road and begin lifting. Careful with your pattern. I know you got off a little bit. So it should have been adjusted accordingly prior to the glue up. The wood fill that did not take stain can be hand painted to mimic the wood grain. Lastly, using a marine finish as a top coat on a piece that will be exposed to a lot of moisture will give you a better and longer lasting end result. I really enjoy your enthusiasm and the pieces you create. Keep up the good work and just try using new techniques with each piece and learning experience. Great job!

Great job upcycling the carts. Instead of putty, use the sawdust mixed with glue as it will match the timber perfectly. My favourite is Cart B (the one without the timber handles).

I love your videos!! You remind me of myself when I was younger. Anything and everything that could go wrong, always did. You are doing much bigger projects than I. My daughters tell me to hire a handi man, its mans work, lol. I dont need no stinkin man, I started doing things myself because my hubby would build a pre boxed shelving unit n have a pile of screws etc. left. DIY and you know it's done right.

I like the pattern on the 2nd and how you attached the top on the 1st. As below, your sense of humor and sharing the snafus (as well as acknowledging the wildlife), make the video fun and easy to watch. Others, I tend to fast forward as they're to "talky". Look forward to more from you.

2:50 please don’t cut like this on a table saw without at least a miter gauge or a cross cut sled, one wrong move and that board would kickback right into you since you don’t have any way to apply even pressure, very easy to cause binding on the blade.

Too funny! The solids of the stains (color pigments) go to the bottom. Constantly stir your stains as you work. To prevent overlap on edges of legs do one side at a time by the time you turn your project around the painted side is dry. Then if overlap happens you just use a damp rag to wipe off.A vacuum cleaner and damp rag are your best friends when redoing furniture. Just sharing. One more thing, after washing your brushes, soak in Simple Green all the paint will come out.

I know this is an old video, but really enjoy the content with the humor. But why do you always have scrap wood? Where does it come from?

That’s a good question 😅 it keeps showing up and it has only tripled over the years lol. I do a lot of projects and somehow I always have left over wood and I never like to throw it away 🤷🏻♀️

While I think you did an amazing job, I think a dark stain/paint and not chopping anything away would have looked beautiful...and similar wheels to the original (or try to get the original ones to work). Those black wheels are honestly awful 😖

I’m sorry, but this makeover I didn’t like. They were two side tables carts from the 50-60ties. I think teak. The bars under the top were to put newspapers and magazines on, but also as a decorative part. Today maybe your laptop? And what happened with th top? I am a little jealous, because I would have loved to restore those. But we have different taste, and that’s ok.
