😍 Beautiful. Also living in a 2 bedroom home with a toddler, but it's my partner who is a HUGE hoarder. He saves everything. Our house is so cluttered. The space under your stairs... We have a tumble dryer there. I hate having wet clothes hanging everywhere over radiators. So inspiring. Wow. Thank you for sharing xx

You just got yourself a new subscriber! I absolutely love the neutral-colored living room with beautiful colorful flowers in the center. Those little buddha statues by the television are so sweet and go nicely with the console table. That couch looks so comfortable, oh my goodness, haha! I like the blend of cozy textures in your space. Having a clean home is so important and minimalism makes it so easy to clean

I think for plants you could buy a plant stand next to the TV. That way they will get sunlight and it also looks better and neat. As least that's what I would do. I keep mine in front of the window but that might feel too cluttered to you

For a little while I had two pictures on my walls (living room by the bedroom door, and bedroom) One was a gift from a friend who died in September 2002. One was a watercolor by a local artist of a cinema that was closing I’d enjoyed going to since the early 90’s (it closed Spring 2016) While covering up nail/tack holes I’d made on the walls since moving here in 2005, I decided not to keep those pictures, either. One reminded me of a close friend long gone, the other of a treasured place now gone. They couldn’t take the place of what was no longer here. Also they covered up more tacky-looking holes. I love having clean, empty walls: no distractions, lots of light and a spacious feeling. I will *never* make a hole in the wall again, here or anywhere. Filling in those stupid little holes, taping around, finally repainting over them to match the rest of the walls’ color was a lot of work I needed never to do.

I start my journey since 2016 it’s not easy since I’m naturally a hoarder. I declutter then again consume a lot and declutter again. Year by year I buy less and less.

I think your home is beautiful. Maybe add some large artwork to add interest to your walls in select spots. It's a good way to warm up the space. I would take the kitchen door off too, no idea why UK houses have a door on every doorway.

Your home is beautiful. Do you have any pictures of what your home looked like before you became a minimalist? It will motivate me for sure. Was it hard to make the transition of getting rid of your stuff? What about semimetals? Example gifts from people or pictures or child hood memorabilia? How do you handle these things?
@piroskavigh63596 ай бұрын
This is such a beautiful home! I love your mirror in the living room, I can relate to being a hoarder. I grew up in eastern Europe and it's so normal for families to have a bunch of stuff. Now that I moved to England I also started buying less stuff because it's very overwhelming. It's definitely not easy with this mass consumerism we're dealing with, but it can be a sustainable lifestyle. Thank you for sharing this ❤

I thought it would be pretty cool to see the shed/outdoor toys/plans for it. Do you think you'll be buying any furniture or play equipment for the garden? In my opinion, it's the perfect size home for an extreme minimalist family! You could easily have another kiddo in that space lol. @@tryinghardminimalist

What a beautiful home. It looks so clean and easy to maintain. I wouldn't add anything in as it's so easy to start cluttering it up again so I think you are right to maintain it the way it is currently. Are you able to slide your dish drying rack into the space beside the cupboard (which looks like it was left for a wine rack, I'm guessing)?
@tryinghardminimalist6 ай бұрын
I think ur right it’s for the wine rack.

Maybe a slim console table by door chest of draws for shoes put um away. Hand Hoover on wall round dining table would have been more preferred move sofa if you are going to have runner make sure it goes all along the hallway or just get normal black mat next door best bath mats

The sofa placement is making the room look so small. In this space the sofa should be against the wall by the window hiding the ugly heater. Then the tv should face the wall right besides the door. The standing mirror can go against th wall where tv currently is. Then it would actually reflect the daylight from the window and be there in sight when you enter living room rather than hiding in a corner on the wall where the door is. In such a small place there is no need for a tv stand unit. You don’t even use it to store anything really. So the tv needs to be hung on the wall with one simple floating wall shelf underneath it on the wall. Remove the TV unit.

Ur suggestion is really good. I will ask my partner 🤪 since he like to see the garden when tired watching tv 😂

I love your house, especially the kitchen and bathroom. I don’t have any great suggestions for the plants. They can be difficult to place because they have needs like light and water. If possible, I would try to group them together somewhere. If they get enough light on the dining room wall that you wondered about doing something with, maybe some glass or acrylic shelves for them?

I enjoyed your video - I’m also in a new build in the UK. I would hang a few of your plants in woven (but lined!) baskets from the ceiling. I think it would lift them off the floor but you can still enjoy them. Your home looks so calm. X
