I love the bedding. Not having things on wall's has helped keep my ADHD in check. Never noticed how much thinking I was doing until my doctor told me to remove all forms of distraction and just go back to the basics.

I’m from Florida and literally grew up in a citrus grove. Store the limes in the fridge, they will keep longer there. You can also juice them, freeze the juice in ice cube trays and then pop the cubes into ziplock bags for later use. Thanks for letting us see your lovely home.

You can zest and juice the limes then get a ice cube tray for making small ice cubes. Freeze then store the cubes in a freezer container. You have fresh lime juice, as little or as much you need at a time. I have a Meyer lemon tree and it produced over 100 lemons last year. I used the ice cube technique and have had juice all year. Almost time for this year's harvest.

Great video! My dog likes to dig and fluff before laying down. She’s not a chewer so I found putting two soft 100% cotton towels on top of the bed satisfies her needs to dig and fluff; they’re also easy to care for.
@rebeccabaron13489 ай бұрын
My dog is a digger too. I got a dog bed and a throw blanket and put it in it. She digs the blanket and fluffs it all up to her liking and lays down. Both the blanket and bed have zero holes. I think because the blanket moves around when she digs and not stretched over it which would make it prone to making holes easily.

Hi Rebecca :) My border Collie likes to have a dig in his bed. What seems to saves them a little bit is throwing in some fleece blankets that get 'dug'. Instead of trying to rearrange the mattress he instead shuffles the blanket around. Seems to save the bed from much of the damage. I pick up baby blankets from charity shops normally as they are a good size.

Hearing your categories was very helpful. I had not thought of making a separate space for travel items. Also, my cleaning supplies and laundry items could be sorted more specifically. This also helps me see how much of each category I can reasonably keep if I want my space to feel like yours. I also have 1000 sf to work with. Thank you for this. It really is so helpful.

Hi Rebecca, I live in Mesa, Arizona which the land of citrus: oranges, lemons and limes. I freeze my lemons and lime whole in a sealed bag. Then whenever you need one, you just thaw it out and they juice exceptionally well. If you need to zest the lemons or limes, you don’t have to thaw them. Best to zest while still frozen.
@lagringabaiana2 жыл бұрын
I loved the tour! For the limes, there is a drink called Brazilian Lemonade and it's a great way to take advantage of limes! It's basically only three ingredients. You blend limes, water, sweetened condensed milk (can be sweetened condensed coconut milk if you want a dairy-free option), and a bit of ice. I like the recipes using the whole lime where you just wash and dry before using and then give it a quick strain after blending to get any big chunks out. Here in Brazil, it's super common to have "suco de limão" which is lime juice with a bit of sugar and I absolutely love it! It's tart, but sweet and refreshing. I hope one of these ideas helps!

Rebecca, I love how beautifully minimal and stylishly simple your house is. I am minimalist in approach myself, but my husband and I have much more stuff than you. I would love to go back to being that minimal, as I used to be years ago (when I lived on my own and didn’t collect books and Nasturtium kitchenware like I do now). Anyway you asked for suggestions as to how to use up your fresh limes, how about: 1. Lime and cardamom low sugar jelly, 2. Lime pickle, 3. Lime cordial or pancake syrup, 4. Lime and avocado yogurt dressing or lime low oil & egg free mayonnaise, 5. Lime and mango fruit leathers, 6. Key-lime pie, 7. Lime fizzy bath bombs, 8. Dried lime slices and cinnamon stick decor tied with natural twine for Christmas ornaments, 9. Lime, Rosemary and white vinegar natural cleaning spray. All these recipes can be found on KZbin (also try Chef AJ ‘s channel or Homestead cookery channels for other ideas). Hope these suggestions help.

Others have suggested freezer methods for preserving the limes. I've preserved lemons before, packing the quartered fruit in a canning jar with salt, spices and water to store in the fridge. I imagine you could do the same with limes or any other citrus.

What are the pros vs cons of wooden plates & bowls? I think they're beautiful I've seen them on your channel as well as a few others but I'd like to know benefits versus downside. I'm especially interested in bacteria growth & as they get older I would imagine they have a shorter lifespan then regular plates what are your thoughts?
@saramations2 жыл бұрын
From my understanding, true wood is "sustainable" (I think that's the biggest draw) and doesn't shatter like glass or porcelain. It is also allegedly more naturally antibacterial. It also offers a different aesthetic and is quieter. However, wood can be more expensive, get stained easier, gets stinkier, it's not microwave or dishwasher safe, and needs to be safely oiled every so often. So, in the end it's just personal preference.
@IAmSherry122 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your thoughts! You made some good points. And I hadn't thought about wood getting stinky but you're right. The only thing I would say is that wood is actually not sustainable or easily replaceable it takes at least 30 years for another tree to grow. Bamboo would be a better Source but again I'm not sure how that would actually work I'd be interested in finding out though I think I'm going to go search bamboo plates and bowls

I really love your home. What really speaks to me, is the simplicity, the calmness and the colours. Sometimes I really wish my home would look like this and sometimes I wish my home would look like a bit more cluttered English country house 😅 I‘m trying to find my sweet spot between these two options, but in the last weeks I‘m leaning more to the minimalist side. I am decluttering (again) to be a bit more minimalistic and have a bit less. Your space is a really great inspiration to me. Thank you for sharing it 😊
