We packed up 90% of our STUFF and tried being extreme Minimalists for a Week! It's true!
We have always kind of wondered how our family would work if we significantly reduced the amount of stuff we have in our home. So, since we were getting ready for a move anyways, we decided that this was our chance to experiment with what it would be like being extreme minimalists for a week.
We got some GREAT tips from Sarah over at the KZbin channel Small Changes (kzbin.info/door/MwT.... Make sure to check out her channel for more amazing tips on how a family LIVES BIG WITH LESS!
Have you ever considered going down the minimalist road? What's stopping you? What do you think you would gain from it? I have now tried being an extreme minimalist for a week and there were definitely pros and cons for our family. Let us know what you think!

Have you ever thought about going minimal? What's stopping you? What do you think you would gain from it?

I have thought about being a minimilist, but I just don't want to that bad so I don't🤣 I kind of like decorations and stuff, to me it makes my space feel homey😄. But I do like to go through and get rid of clutter every now and then!

I've been progressing on my minimalism journey for a little over a year now, and it has revolutionized my ability to function from day to day. I don't have to spend hours and hours cleaning my home because less stuff = less to clean/manage. Having less stuff has given me so much more time to spend with my spouse. We have time for the things we love to do. I still have a lot left to tackle, but it feels so great to be able to come home to a place a of peace.

This is SO inspiring and motivating! Yes, yes, yes, to everything you said! We aren't "minimalists", but learning to let go of stuff I don't need or love has made such a HUGE difference in my life! "A place of peace". I love that!

This would be an interesting experiment! I don't consider myself to be a minimilist 😂

Working towards a minimalish lifestyle. I’ve been reducing, simplifying and streamlining for about two years. Huge progress has been made, however neither my partner or my daughter are interested in it...yet.

From what you have shared on the channel in the past I know you have made great progress. Does your partner and daughter notice any benifits from your minimal living?

@@RealOrganized my partner has, he appreciates the benefits of knowing where things are and is happy with pretty much everything I do in the house. He’s a ‘collector’ and a ‘saver’ so while he will let go of a few things he is reluctant to purge. My daughter only looks at a clean space as a canvas for her mess. She has actually told me that she loves her mess and feels sad when I clean it up saying she misses it. I’ve put about 60% of her toys in ‘quarantine’ if she asks for a specific toy it is returned to her, but if she can’t name it...out it goes (in 6 months..she has a long memory😂). Slow progress, She is now willing to donate some things, but only if its to make room for something new. It’s a start.

Great video! Can't wait to see your new space and yes it's good to not rush and fill it up just because you have a bit more room. Our home is just over 1,000 square feet for the three of us and before I began decluttering, it felt too small and I couldn't wait to be able to purchase something roomier. BUT now our little home has more than enough space and I would rather purchase something smaller when the time comes. Though I would prefer to have two bathrooms and I really want a bathtub.

Shelli, I love how you explain that! I LOVE our new house, but if we only had one kid I would have stayed at our old house (even with only one bathroom). But with my 4 wonderful tornados, I'm excited to explore the family dynamics in our new house! We are doing a small (pre-organizing) house tour new week. :)

Nice haircut 😀👍🏼. I thought it was funny how your husband laughed when you said that. 😂 When you're a girl who has long hair, a haircut can make you feel so much better and fresh. Guys just get haircuts all the time so they wouldn't know how it feels 😂. Idk why I thought that was so funny 🤪
