What a great video Will. I love the story and narration. Just watching all the skills makes me want to go out and practice. It must be great having such a community to support you. I'm on my own here on the other side of the world. After an injury, I turned to The Dark Side and now have an electric unicycle. I still ride my Sweat Powered One but not as often. Keep up the good work Will :)

Just got into unicycling about 3 weeks ago and upgraded to a 26 club from a rusty 16 inch. After going on a 20 kilometer trip then road down a volcanic butte a week ago. Going to drive through moab this week and hope to do some muni along side my mountain biking family. It is amazing how well this video was made. So cool how you can find these niche videos. Thank you!

I got into mountain unicycling a few years ago, ultimately it messed up my knees. I was 60lbs overweight though, and have since lost 60 lbs. thinking about getting back into it

Someone who used to ride a 24in lightly on trails and wanting to get back into the sport 8 years down the road what size wheel should I get. I like hopping around. 26? Or 27.5?
@WillStreets
@WillStreets 2 жыл бұрын
If your trails are generally technical and rocky, similar to the trails in this video, then I'd recommend the 26. If your trails are generally smoother and more flowy, like at STOMP, then I'd recommend the 27.5. The 26 will be a slightly better for hopping and the 27.5 will be slightly better for rolling. Both climb about the same honestly. The 27.5 will feel a little faster and will definitely save energy on longer rides. I have a 26 and a 27.5 and I've seen a lot of amazing riding on both sizes. I think it mostly comes down to the types of trails you ride most and your personal riding style. Anyway, hope I helped!

Out of curiosity what where the most common sizes among the top 25% of muni riders?
@WillStreets
@WillStreets 2 ай бұрын
I feel like 90% were 26" or 27.5" wheels. Maybe slightly more 26" wheels at Moab. Noli was on 26", I *think* Eric was on 26", Ryan was on 27.5"

Hi Will Street, I'd love to come in contact with you! I'm a Dutch (m)unicyclist in Utah right now. How can I come in contact with you? Cheers!!

Hey Okke, thanks for saying hi. I'd love to meet you and ride with you, but Utah is a 25 hour drive away from me here in Alabama. I try to go to one mountain unicycle weekend out west each year, but that's really the best I can do right now. If you're ever down in my area feel free to reach out and we'll go for a ride!

What the heck is that 1:02. An aircraft tire? 1:36 this guy knows how to ride downhill on sand. I've ridden sand myself, less pedal resistance/balancing and more weight on seat/hip twist steering. At same time you have to just roll with gravity while sliding at the same time. Where's all the fat tire hatchets? As, I've suspected they're just a novelty with no real purpose.
@WillStreets
@WillStreets 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, sand is totally a different monster from trail. The unicycle at 1:02 was purpose built specifically for that sandy hill by Paul Hartman. Building custom unis has become his hobby and art. That’s Ryan Kremsater at 1:36. He’s a Kris Holm sponsored rider and he makes everything look easy. 😄
