I recommend just to bring a rope halter. They fit almost any size horse and they are a better training tool then nylon or leather halters. :)

I agree, but I read in a book that the blm requires that you use a nylon halter (like the ones in the video) as you horses first halter. :)

They are also waiting to hook on anything. Hard call.

Morgan and Logan rope halters hurt a bit more if a horse pulls against them and leather breaks easy in my opinion.nylon is kind to their face and can be adjusted good enough until they calm down enough to put on a different one but it's really all personal opinion

Are these horses really wild? They seem way too calm - I mean how can you put a halter on a completely wild horse? Or do they pick out the more tame ones for this challenge?

No they are wild you get a number and that's the mustang you get they are wild as can be

A lot of these horses have been in holding for a while so they are to a degree used to humans but for all intents and purposes they are indeed wild.

they've just been around humans so they are used to seeing them and as for the halter they trap them in a chute and put it on them so they can't run
