Paperwork is my most difficult mess to organize. And yes I am always writing notes on random envelopes. I bought a small spiral notebook to start writing those notes on...now where did I put it? Found it just need to remember to use it. 7 years for tax stuff ...Keep up the good work.

I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one scribbling notes on envelopes😉Doing that paper declutter took way longer than a 30 minute video can really show & it was very overwhelming at times. It literally took two days, lol. But it’s done at least & hopefully doesn’t get to that state again!

I keep a folder for recently paid bills. When I pay a bill I remove the old one from the folder and put the most recent in it. I just keep it because I write notes on them. Like check number and date paid. My daughter pays everything online so no papers to deal with. But I’m old school. I think you have come a very long way. I’ve been watching a lot of your newer vids. I purged two years in a row. Huge purges of papers. I use to keep my old checking account statements. Going back decades. Old paid bills for years back. It takes a bit of trying different methods to see what works for you. Of course, I have a huge pile stacking up on my desk right now. Thanks for the motivation.

When I decided to get minimal paper was the bane of my existence! It took an entire year to get through it all and to condense it into a 2 drawer very organized filing cabinet. I have room to grow and plan to reevaluate it annually to weed out the "expired" unnecessary paperwork. Never want to do it again!😱😂🤣

Same here! That wasn’t even as bad as it coulda been but I really don’t want to have it pile up like that again. Too much to deal with all at one time. Trying to declutter digital stuff next🥵Thats a whole ‘nother beast! 😬

No Tracy, 😃it´s not bad, it´s a great habit to use envelopes for notes, shoping lists aso 😄It saves paper and our planet. Tho 😉it is a good idea to first take the paper out and file that where it belongs. Btw, you are doing GREAT with your decluttering progress, both with sorting stuff and with mindset. ❤ Healing in a really good way.

Hi Tracy! Fantastic job! It feels so great to move a lot of paper out of the house! Keep your shredder in a handy location. Everyday as your mail comes in, sort it right away...recycle, shred, save. Do you have a memorabilia bin or scrapbook? You can add your beautiful photos and sommelier certificate to it. Super job on the kitchen!!

AWESOME JOB, TRACY!!! I moved boxes of work material to my home office/she shed since we are officially teleworking for good. I have been decluttering for 1.5 days and it feels so good😁 I also went through my personal box and have a bag of tax stuff to shred. And I went from 2 file containers to 1🙌🙌 I do the same thing with my debit/credit cards-placing the shreds into 2 separate bags so they can't be put back together again and used!! BTW, your hair is so pretty and long (based on the photos) and you are a beauty! I also LOVE Tina's crown🤩 Where did she get it?

Pro organizer here. #1 Rule I give to clients...... ALL Envelopes go into the trash. Period. Having to open an envelope to see the paper you are filing is not efficient and a waste of space. I personally use a modified version for short term items and projects Of the “Sunday Basket” in a binder and have another binder that lives in a large fire safe that is the “emergency binder”. We started doing this when we moved to Japan 30 miles from the great tsunamis a year after it happened. The rule is would we need it to restart our life and it goes in there. As well as all of our account numbers and passwords and phone numbers. Over the last 10 years we have grabbed it at least a dozen times for emergencies. And was so helpful for the 3 moves - 1 international. And I literally grabbed it Thursday morning when the tornado warning went off and we jumped into the bath tub.
@TracyAkamine2 жыл бұрын
That’s fantastic advice! Thank you so much! I definitely can organize deeper. Always more organizing to do! 😝

don't you have a shredder for your cc's? mine shreds paper and cards then i use the fluff as packing material.,.but the way mine works is it cuts horizontal and vertical so you'd have to be smarter then Einstein to put it back together.
@TracyAkamine2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think mine can shred cc. I looked at the machine & it didn’t list those so I figured I’d better not try. All of those were old & the accounts are closed anyways but figured I’d better cut um up regardless.
