This has to be one of the better, low key, not going to lecture to you but just give you honest information, reviews that I have seen. Really great job and thanks!. And high noise floor or not, the low cost lav mics are a boon to anyone starting out...especially young kids/teens without a lot of money who want to have their videos sound pretty professional. Run the audio through Audacity or some other audio software and do a few basic things and it will sound 1000x better than just using the camera in-cam mic.....and for just $40 bucks! What's not to like. For KZbin/vimeo vids, fantastic!

@@Raychristofer Hey thanks for the reference. I did checkout the FinFine? microphone...while it is cheaper there were a lot of things about it that were deal killers for me. Requires both AA and AAA batteries, much poorer distance, too large, inferior sound (IMO), etc. I think the Hotec/Auvoxcon is a much better solution. If you can remove the hiss in post production it's completely usable IMO and distance is great. The category of solutions I'd look at is voice recorders (Tascam or Zoom)...no chance of cutouts and superior sound vs wireless system...just requires post production to sync audio and video.

I'm curious about using this in Australia. Beyond the Backyard, did you get one? The problem is that this product uses 902-928MHz but in Australias the legal frequencies for such a thing are 915-928MHz. I can't find the documentation online and haven't received a reply to my email to alvoxcon. How does channel selection work? Can the user manually set the frequency that the transmitter is using? Also, Ray do you think the hissing would preclude using this for making instructional videos for an on-line training business (yoga)? Thanks for the review and any advice!!

Peter Boothby I haven’t ordered one yet. I figured since they were available it should be fine. I’ll have to look into it
@MrBoothdude4 жыл бұрын
I just found another few videos showing how to set the frequencies. I'd say in Australia one has to be a bit careful when first turning on the transmitter and bumping the frequency above 915MHz to be legal. Once there, presumably one would just leave it set.
