My childhood bedroom is now my sister's room, so I didn't ever have the opportunity to do something like this, but I honestly think that was good for me. I think it helped me to grow apart from that version of myself and into who I am, while still respecting my younger self from a distance, you know? I love what you did with yours though! I tooooootally get this! My parents redid the second floor of their house when I had moved out and it was honestly the best way to cure any homesickness. My old room lives on in photos and memories but (fortunately) not in bright green paint anymore! Also, lol-ed watching this because I have the exact same curtains, pillow covers, and throw blanket in my living room right now. I hope you end up liking the curtains- I personally get a good amount of compliments on them. :)

I can tell you’re comfortable and happy in NYC by the fact that you felt ready to do this!!!! I felt so sad coming home to my room after my parents repainted, I felt like a guest in my own house!
